If you really are at 1,100 calories weight should be falling off of you. That's way below your resting energy expenditure, to say nothing of your activity-related energy expenditure.
And in any case, size 33 ain't bad for a guy. I'm 6-0 145, have around a 29'' waist, when measured around the belly button, but wear 31'' jeans.
