Not to upstage Chris by any means. His is the more noteworthy challenge as it bears on health. And I expect he'll reach his goal before I reach mine. Nonetheless, my son and I are undertaking a challenge of our own that we're excited about. In fact, we've been working on it for a couple of weeks now. Specifically, we'd like to master two gymnastics skills: the planche and the front lever. And we'd like to get them, or get as close as we can by the Summer Olympics, next August, to coincide with the gymnastics competition.

Progress to date:
On the Planche, we've both progressed from the Frog Stand to the Tuck Planche, which is much harder. And on the Front Lever, we've progressed from the Tuck Lever to the Advanced Tuck Lever. Again, much harder due to decreasing leverage.
Odds for success:
Pretty good shot on getting the Front Lever by next August. But since the Planche is generally considered to be among the most challenging movement, some say it takes 1-2 years, the Advanced Tuck Planche (see picture in bottom article), we believe, would be a good benchmark.
In any case, we both believe it will enhance our enjoyment of watching the gymnastics competition together!
