That's not correct. Certain types of masks weren't necessarily effective at stopping you from catching COVID, but they could reduce your ability to spread it.
The decision to nominate Trump again didn't seal the deal for you? ;)

Haha, i was thinking larger policy wise. But yeah, someone could literally, and yes I mean that word, offer me a million dollars and I wouldn’t pull the lever for him. It would be capitulating to everything I despise, I have more self respect than that.

What about your Jan 6 MAGA terrorists? Should they be allowed to wear masks?

Or about being able to identify bad actors when the peaceful protests become violent.

I’d say not, why should they be allowed to?

Yeah, you could just arrest them for the getting violent part.

I have some mixed feelings here. People should definitely be allowed to wear masks for public health reasons, but I can see a case where it shouldn’t be for protests or public gatherings. The KKK example was brought up. There is something to be said that if you are going to publicly stir the pot, you should at least identify yourself and subject yourself to public scrutiny.

Still, it seems like a difficult law to enact as there are legit reasons why one may want to wear a mask - health, religious, cultural.

Easier said than done to identify people in a large crowd, I’m sure they would just stand there and put their arms up to wait for LEO’s to detain them.

You’re protesting with a mask right now… unless your name really is gatorpa.

Gun bans won't work because bad guys don't care about the law. But mask bans, that's different. Bad guys won't wear masks.

I still see people out in stores wearing masks from time to time. Or people working in public businesses. I wore one a month or so ago because I was getting over shingles on my face and I didn't want to scare the children ...
But, seriously, can you imagine being told you're not allowed to wear one because someone else might wear a mask to a protest and we simply can't allow that?

Almost as bat**** crazy as everything we were required to do (or do without) 2020-21.

With whataboutery usually involves some sort of proportionality. Comparing this law to 2020-21 is like comparing the hard rain we go last Thursday to the Johnstown Flood.

And that's the important thing: To dismiss something because you think something else that happened sometime was worse.
I mean, why do you keep complaining about the Covid restrictions when compared to the Holocaust it was no big deal?

I wouldn’t dare compare pan-panic to the Holocaust.

    Pan-panic killed many more millions.

The Dems tried to add a rider to cover health and safety, and the pubs used a procedural motion to stop it. Didn’t even have the guts to vote on it.
