This game shows that the freshman are ready to step up and although in my view the team has some limitations in talent they are still fighting to the end. I was almost ready to sign them off after last night's train wreck loss and my goodness they come out today with Liam firing bullets and the bats coming to life..with a serious beatdown of UK. Now the key to the season has been keeping that level of energy and grit going. Cags has to be on his game and we need to jump over their SP early and get the crowd in the game. Let's win the series!
Pretty sure they're a thing in all sanctioned sports. Threshold is usually around 20-25% of the season, IIRC. Anyone hurt this late in the year would be well past that threshold.
Did anyone notice that when Foxy (Kurland) hit his home run one TV announcer keep talking about how Heyman hit the ball. The second guy did not correct them. They were doing the announcing from afar (i.e at home). DUH!
Cags had one of his few bad at bats for the entire season in this game. With the game virtually out of doubt (we had given up 11 runs in an inning recently so not completely out of doubt), hitting streak intact and four intentional walks in a row to frustrate him I will forgive him for swinging for the fences on every pitch no matter where it was thrown or what kind of pitch it was. He had earned one selfish at bat with all he has done this year.
