The Kardiac Kids do it! 9-4 Now we have to win tonight!

 

The last 2 national seeds are fascinating.
Four teams, two spots it appears - UF, Mizzou, LSU and OSU.
Mizzou needs to win tonight to be in the picture I think. They are 9 ELO, 10 RPI, finished above LSU in conference, number 9 SOS, and played 42 games away from home.

LSU played the number one SOS which the committee will reward, but only played five noncon games away from home, and finished .500 in league. RPI of 5, ELO of 10. And 5-5 in their last 10.

OSU has an RPI of 9 and ELO of 7. Weaker schedule than us but played 34 games away from home. 8-2 in their last 10. Lost to BYU in their tournament which hurt them.

and then we are the biggest wildcard, 4 ELO, 8 RPI as of now. 2nd in conference above both the other SEC schools. 29 games away from Gainesville, so mid pack there. But weakest noncon of the three by far, which the committee values. 8-2 in our last 10, but 3-4 against the other three teams.

So, good luck committee. But if both us and LSU win tonight. I thin that might decide things.

 

A lot of speculation on the tourney W/L impact on seeding. Will be interesting, tho it seems quite often that these conference tourney results have no significant impact on NCAA seedings.
I'm biased but I think UF already has a top 8 seed W or L tonight.

 

Coach of the Year: Karen Weekly, Tennessee

Exactly what did she do to earn this? She took the national pre-season #2 team and had a good season. I think Smiley could have done that.

CTW took the #18 national preseason ranked team and is in the conversation for a #8 national seed.
He did this with no returning pitchers and had to manage and rely on two freshman pitchers.

 

See looks prettier than Tim and they can't give every award to UF, can they? UT ran with 2 pitchers and a very average hitting team. If yo look at our starting 9, all will be back except SW and KK. The entire infield is Freshman and the catcher is only a soph. Top 3 pitchers are all Freshman. Really doubt Karen could have done this.

 

My vote....no way in the moon she is prettier than Tim.

Agree. And while some bash CTW for the puff non-conference schedule, I think that very well could have been what molded this team into the cohesive bunch that play so well together. Winning is fun, regardless the opponent.
