Complete and total bullshit on the ref thing. Embiid probably committed over 3,000 fouls in the series that weren’t called. Same thing for McConnell against Brunson, although McConnell’s 3,000 fouls were committed in about 10 minutes. These guys are banging each other all over the place. It is what it is.
Nope. Harden is a ball dominant guard who is not much of a facilitator. Brunson is both a scorer and a facilitator. The ball is not stuck in his hands. Only 2 players in NBA history have had 3 games of 35+ points and 10+ assists in a single NBA playoff series. They are Oscar Robertson and Jalen Brunson. Jalen also just had 4 consecutive 40+ point playoff games before last night’s game in which he missed the 2nd quarter with an injury.
This is an odd take....you can say whatever you want about Harden but he's definitely a facilitator. Brunson has averaged 6.7 assists a game this year, which is the most in his career. Harden has had 10 seasons with more assists. He has 4 seasons where he averaged 10+ assists. He led the league in assists in 16-17. He has been in the top 10 in the NBA for assists every year for the last 10 years with 6 of those in the top 5. You picked a very obscure stat to say that Brunson is a better facilitator.
Brunson is the most overrated player in the NBA and it's not even close. He has those stats because he's their entire offense, his usage rate must be off the charts. Not to mention how many FTs he gets for "drawing" fouls. The kind of drawing where you flop and flail with no intention of getting a shot up, but the refs fall for it every time. Like Harden. You seem to have a thing for undersized PGs
I don't think Brunson is overrated, but I do agree that his usage rate must be high and he basically is the Knicks 1st, 2nd, and 3rd option on offense. He amazes me how he is not the fastest, quickest, highest jumping, or flashy ball handler, but the guy somehow always gets the shot off over a bigger defender. I don't think he and Harden are that similar, though. I tend to agree with what @bakaduin said above.

One of the greatest post-season playoffs in NBA history? I don't want to take anything away from Brunson because he has taken the next step these last two years and is a great player. I just can't get over the hyperbole. I wouldn't even argue he is the best post-season player THIS season. Brunson is having a great post-season because he is a) a great player and b) he is being forced to carry a very injured team. He leads the playoffs in usage % at 36% which is above your classic "ball hogs" like Embiid and Doncic. Combined that with a TS% that ranks 43rd for the playoffs and I think that paints the picture of where those high scoring games are coming from. Now the Knicks need him to be that guy, so I hope he keeps shooting if they want to have a chance. For my money, Anthony Edwards or maybe KAT have been the players of the post-season so far. Edwards is #1 in WS, lower in usage, much higher in TS%. He is only averaging 2.6 less PPG than Brunson on way more efficiency (10% difference in TS%).

He hasn't even got out of the damn 2nd round, and might not. He might get absolutely smoked by the Celtics, if they make it that far and face them next round. Just these playoffs alone Anthony Edwards has far better numbers than Brunson, far more efficient and more impactful on both ends. You know, the other side of the ball, called "defense". Brunson has about the same as Donovan Mitchell's. Even Lebron, in HIS 21st SEASON, had a better stat line than Brunson in these playoffs (>+10% FG%, +6.4% 3FG, higher assists, higher rebounds, 3X higher blocks, 3X higher steals) Try to at least make your comments believable. I can't believe that even you believe that he's had "one of the greatest post-season playoffs in the history of the NBA". If you do, you might need to watch more NBA from 1946 - 2023
a smaller Harden in that he's a crafty lefty that works the refs to draw fouls. Both flail their arms when they've been touched - contact that they drew on purpose with the sole intent to get to the FT line. Knowing that the refs will call it, yet had no intention of actually shooting. Guys that know how to work the system.
I think with respect to flopping and flailing... if Harden is the level 10 flopper, Brunson is probably around a level 6. Harden is the undisputed GOAT flopper in NBA history. Put some respek on Harden's name!
