Figured we could use 1 thread to have not only the games the Gators play in, but keep up with all the other games being played. I'll start off using SEC seedings instead of national rankings. In Game 1 Tuesday night, #13 Ole Miss beat #12 Kentucky 7-2. In Game 2 that started at 10 AM ET, #9 Alabama & #8 LSU are tied 2-2 going to the bottom of the 9th. Sydney Berzon has pitched all the way for LSU. Kayla Beaver threw the first 6 innings for Alabama and Jocelyn Briski has been in since. So far Bama has outhit LSU 6-3.
Both teams have done a good job of sacrificing runners from 1st to 2nd, but neither has been able to get the clutch hit to score a run. Alabama got their 2 runs in the 1st innings, LSU got theirs in the 6th. Now in the bottom of the 10th still tied.
Now to the 11th. Intense game with lots of stranded RISP. Just cuz that Sanchez guy is there (and positioned for TV, of course), I'd like to see LSU lose.
Also to tag another loss on LSU and knock them down (hopefully) from some of their overrated rankings.
Berzon still grnding it out in the circle for LSU. She was at 148 pitches starting the top of the 11th.
That would have been fair. For anyone who missed that catch, surely it will be on SportsCenter Top 10.
Nothing like a 4+ hour softball game to start off the day in a tournament. Who knows when the 4th game of the day will start??!!
Sydney Berzon has got to have tired legs by now. She's thrown 185 pitches through 12 innings. Both teams have stranded 12 base runners.
SB announcers would be so much better if didnt speak. i loved how they explained that the 11th has been the Bama inning ALL YEAR, bc won in the 11th 4 days ago..lolol
Going to the 14th still tied 2-2. Incredible! Berzon still pitching for LSU facing her 54th batter and starting the inning with 200 pitches thrown.
That LSU win was not good for us. I think we have to win one to get an 8 seed and stay in front of LSU.
Took them 4 hits in 1 inning to score the winning run, but LSU moves on to get ousted by Tennessee tomorrow.
