Look, we've made a habit out of stealing from the rest of the world over many years of hollow colonialism. Nicking food was the one thing we got right.

You joke. I absolutely would. Just need to win the lottery first.

    You sure they weren't daytrippers?

Generally there are some nice ones here. People who care. We also have a lot of toff-nose exceptionalists who still, regrettably, have most of the wealth and power. But I think it's slowly changing. Young people can't fathom it. My age? We're just desperately apathetic to it, but we're getting angrier. It's a long process.

Not only did we win the revolution, we are succeeding at turning the UK into America Jr, and when we beat England in the World Cup, you will have to call it soccer too

The point is that in the U.S., even a state like Alabama has modern sewage treatment plants that only rarely get overwhelmed by massive amounts of rainfall. In England, everything just flows downhill, every day of the year, even in their most prestigious city, London.

Finally, an update on England and her poop problem. I was curious to see what kind of amazing progress the highly-capable Brits have made in dealing with this disgusting, horrific problem.

They are an island. They can't have all cliffs facing the ocean, or they'd never have developed their navy.

Yeah I get it. I’m just saying I’ve literally never even considered an English beach. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one depicted in any sort of media.

Seen lots of English beach scenes with the real tiny little beach houses in popular media.

I'll save you the time. Pass.

It's why we all bugger off to Spain, Greece and Turkey in the summer...

I think I saw a Benny Hill episode where he chased a girl on the beach. It looked fine to me when I wasn’t watching the girl or laughing at Benny.

Brighton Beach is the only one I can think of, as in the opening scene of Chariots of Fire.

Mrs. Strange and I are headed to London in September, spending four days there then taking the train up to Edinburgh.

Not a big fan of cities but Luke London. Daughter lives there now and we visited Edinburgh and Glasgow last summer. Pm me if you want some insight.

I posted that in 2022 during our incredulity phase.

I actually think everyone is just waiting for the current Government to leave. They have been atrocious and are now paying for it. They were the definition of populism and thankfully, it is now killing them off as a party. That's the thing with populism - eventually you have to confess that not every unicorn is real. As such, a lot of Tory voters are now moving to Reform (who continue to push an utterly nutty agenda).

I just hope the next Government can focus on policy and people. We're in a mess - no more time for silly self serving politics. Sadly, I have little faith in any of the parties to do this...
