(SB) Official Game Thread - UF @ Georgia 3-Game Series

HUGE series for the Gators, as they try to bounce back from an ugly run-rule loss to FSU Wednesday night. Florida needs to win as many of their last 7 games as they can to bolster their resume for seeding purposes in the NCAA tournament. As of 4/23 Georgia was ranked #10 by D1 Softball, Florida 13th. Georgia is #4 in RPI, #6 in SOS, #23 in OOC SOS. Florida is #17 in RPI, #30 SOS, #111 in OOC SOS. In the Diamond Sports Rankings, Georgia is #8, Florida is #13. As for the Bulldogs, here are some facts:
Georgia is 36-11, 10-8 in the SEC, 24-5 at home. They have significant wins over Purdue (2), Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, UCLA, Florida State (20-10), Virginia Tech, Clemson, California, Georgia Tech, Alabama (2), Ole Miss (3), Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri (2). Falby leads off the 1st with a ground out to SS. Otis doubles to right center, Wallce HBP, Erickson doubles down the left field line, 1 run in runners on 2nd & third. Walsh pops out to SS, Goddard walks, Brown singles up the middle, 2 runs in, runners on 1st & 2nd, Kowalweski strikes out. 3-0 Gators. Nice start!!!

 

Leadoff single for Georgia, then a ground out to 2B, runner moves to 2nd. 3rd batter walks, followed by a ground ball to 2nd. Mia tags the runner going from 1st to 2nd, then completes the DP with a throw to 1st. UF ahead 3-0 going to the 2nd.

 

Williams strikes out looking, Falby flies out to deep left center, Otis grounds out to SS. Going to the bottomo of the 2nd.

 

Keagan walks the first 2 batters in the bottom of the 2nd, then Falby catches a deep fly ball at the fence. Rothrock gets a strikeout and a pop out to first to end the inning. She' struggling with her control and throwing a lot of pitches, but the Gators lead 3-0 after 2 innings.

 

Skylar leads off with a line drive single up the middle, then takes 2nd on a wild pitch. Erickson flies out to the wall in LF, Wallace takes 3rd. Walsh gets an RBI single to RF, Goddard and Brown pop out. 40 UF going to the bottom of the 3rd.

 

Bottom of the 3rd, Goelz replaces Brown at 1st, Kislter replaces Goddard in RF.

 

Top of the batting order for Georgia. Ground out to 2nd, foul pop out to 3rd and a pop out to SS. Quikc inning for Keagan. Going to the 4th, Gators ahead 4-0.

 

Top of the 4th - AK singles to RF, Mia gets down a nice sac. bunt. Ariel steals 3rd, Falby walks, then steals 2nd. Otis walks, Wallce singles up the middle, 2 runs score. Ru8nners on 1st & 2nd, Florida up 6-0, Georgia changes pitchers.

 

Double steal with Otis & Wallace.

 

Sac fly to LF from Erickson, Otis score run #7.

 

Walsh walks, fakes stealing 2nd to draw the throw and Wallace steals home. Goelz flies out to end the inning. Florida up 8-0. Awesome.
