3 days of stroke play and then top 8 advance to match play

Day 1 was abysmal for UF, ended up near the bottom
Day 2 UF smashed the field with a 10 under and climbed up near the top

Day 3 underway, UF started hot and was in 1st for a moment. Now approaching the turn 1 stroke behind AU and Vandy, 2 strokes ahead of 4th place UT. They are safely clear for making the top 8 which is what really matters, the draw for match play could end up being anything. AU is ranked 1, Vandy 3, Ole Miss 5, UT 7, Bama 10....pick your poison(Ole Miss won't make match play,10 strokes out of 8th). As it stands now UF would face TAMU in the QF....but that could change fast

    Team - SEC Championship - 2024-04-24 (golfstat.com)

    Stroke play is over.

AU FR Koivun wins individual title. About only AU player that was any good this week,,but still T1 in stroke play.

Still hate match play to determine champ.. A quad for ex., should hurt more than just losing a hole IMO

I tend to agree on match play, but it certainly is exciting.....UF has been very up and down all year, but match play may suit them since they tend to have a lot of birdies and a lot of bogeys. Today UF had 19 holes over par and 18 holes where they shot under par. In stroke play that hurts, in match play maybe not

UF had a poor round today and fell all the way to 6th and will face 3 seed Vandy

Awful start this morning vs Vandy....down in 4 matches almost immediately
    Turner down 2 thru 4
    Gilligan up 1 thru 4
Bell down 3 thru 3, that's really ugly
    Wilkes down 1 thru 3
    Kress down 1 thru 2

Remaining fairly static at the turn
    Turner 1 down thru 11
    Gilligan 1 up thru 11
Bell 1 down thru 9, so has momentum
Wilkes 5 down thru down, getting crushed
    Kress 2 down thru 9
Vandy 4-1....but 4 of the matches still up for grabs, Wilkes is toast

Turner evened his match then lost the next hole, 1 down thru 13
Gilligan loses a hole, even thru 13
Bell evened his match then loses next 2 holes, 2 down thru 12
Wilkes 6 down thru 11, just brutal
    Kress 2 down thru 11

Better make a move really quickly or its over

Turner and Kress both win a hole to get within 1, Gilligan still all square,,,flicker of life
Bell loses 4 straight holes after tying it up. He is so up and down.....everyone got so pumped after his run at the Amateur, and he has shown flashes this season but no consistency (could be said of most of the team to be honest)

UF trying to make a huge comeback. Down to 2 matches, both tied, UF needs both to win.

** Vandy just went up 1 in one match through 17..Other match tied after 18

Wow. both matches back to tied..lol Sudden death in both.

UF gets one match after 20 holes.. 2-2-1. Down to Moll v Kress tied after 18

Vandy pulled it out..boo. Was hoping #2 would lose since #1 not playing great this week so far..

Kress lost in 19.....they sure battled back. They can be a tough out in match play with the birdie ability.

The roster is deep but so inconsistent I would imagine its tought to set a lineup each match. Dubois was a hero of the Natty last year and he has disappeared, Poulter has been in and out of the lineup, Debove was a regular 2 years ago now nowhere to be seen, Padgin had an amazing freshman year and been nowhere ever since

AU was pretty dominant all year, 3rd was worst finish in any tourney I think, And probably the favorite in next tourney. But Fr had to carry them in stroke play this week.. He was 12 of the 14 under.lol Annd almost choked away huge lead v Bama earlier today.

Hey, this is a Gator board, but since your baseball team is in the crapper we'll cut you some slack. :D

What 20-22 is no good? What about 22-21?

And AU SB is far worse than baseball regardless of record/post season chances.

yep. Still much better than the SB team lol Take a generational pitcher off that team they would be 0-21 and well under 500 overall.
