I completely understand your point. Sully has admitted that he has not figured out how to right the ship, but I admire that he is trying. I don't think he has lost the team as much as they are all despondent over their performances. I just pointed out that the whole Cags debate is understandable but the vehemence that he change starting days does not take into account that he is also an elite 1st baseman and Sully does not want to lose a day of Cags at 1st. I'm sure all agree that in a tourney, Cags needs to pitch early.
Seriously Shane you want to throw Cags vs the best pitcher in America and trust the rest of this staff to cobble wins on Saturday and Sunday? Do you realize we are facing probably the best pitcher in America in Hagen Smith ? Do you also realize he will strikeout 17-20 Gator hitters Friday night ? You want to waste his arm Friday night against an All American pitcher?
When I pitched for Florida, our recovery program was drinking cold Budweiser beer and having two or three Marlboro cigarettes. Pitch and repeat pitch and repeat. The Marlboro’s were the Red Box not Lights for all you youngsters on here!
Agreed Chap—I have explained it to the best of my ability. And then there’s the proposed question about pitching Cags earlier in post season play. One has nothing to do with the other. I need a drink.
Cags pitched Saturday and is playing first base today. Based on this, we would only lose him at first base on Saturday and as I and others have said many times he could DH Saturday
Cags is such a complete player that you want him on the field as much as possible. It would be a waste to have him DH and not playing D at 1B even for one game.
Careful everyone, we wouldn't want anyone to get the idea that Cags should pitch on Tuesday so that he can play all three games at first on the weekend.
