No, it's not. In fact, the Thomas situation is worse.

The majority of my sister's loan was forgiven recently. She's an elementary school teacher. God bless Joe Biden

The prices for E-texts are a fraction of print copies. Why would you want authors to be stolen from? I realize it's the publishers who rake in the majority of the dough, but stealing people's intellectual contributions?

Quick . . . how much did he borrow? (we don't know)
What amt did he pay back? (we don't know)
How long did he make payments in good faith? (we know . . . 20+ years)

    But yeah . . . "cart blache"

For those who keep claiming that this guy borrowed 250k . . . . just stop it. The only loans eligible for this forgiveness are gov loans. Here are the current gov loan limits. Back when this person borrowed, they were less.

$57,500 for undergraduates-No more than $23,000 of this amount may be in subsidized loans.

$138,500 for graduate or professional students-No more than $65,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans. The graduate aggregate limit includes all federal loans received for undergraduate study.

The amt for undergraduates claimed as dependents is only 31k.

He didn't borrow $250K, that sum includes principle plus a shitload of accrued interest. I know I'm going to get a "Come On Man" rating but it's amazing that creditors would continue to loan large sums of money to an incompetent real estate developer with a history of multiple bankruptcies.

my answer to each question hasn’t changed. It’s irrelevant. The debt is what he agreed in terms. Period. As he said himself. He knew he couldn’t pay it back with his current job choice but didn’t want to change jobs. That’s not an ‘extenuating’ circumstance by any definition. For what it’s worth….Not an efficient use of money to buy votes. That guy likely voting blue anyway.
