I heard someone recently say Lagway is the future of Gator football. Is that true? If so, what does that mean for you? I believe that has huge implications for the future. How about you?

The magic eight ball says it's a possibility.

Wait and see. He hasn't even taken a hit from an SEC caliber DT yet, it's all been black jersey.

One could only hope the future looks good.

Lotta changes have happened heading into this year. Some great portal kids, recruits have some years under their collective belts. Better coaching. They've worked on tackling. (Woo-Hoo) Mertz can improve his game. We have kids ready to breakout big time. DJ. He has to be an X-factor.

We should have enough development to pull off a winning season. That in itself could change the whole program going forward. While NIL is important to the free agent players, so is the appearance and reality of the program.

Star rising on the billboard charts...:p

    Beat everyone!

    Go Gators.;)

He was thought to be potentially a generational talent coming out of high school. He has already demonstrated leadership and a willingness to be coached. If he is as good as advertised he may become a magnet for other top players. (Last guy we had who fit that description was Tim Tebow.)
    We shall see....

If Napier can stay employed, that has a good chance to be true. A ton rides on this season. If things go south, it’ll be a few more years of struggle unless we were to have some huge splash of a hire which is highly unlikely. Who the hell they going to get?

It will be interesting to see how Napier uses him this year, and what type of talent Lagway can attract to UF.

Wanne, you get it!!! If Lagway and company are the future, then just as much concern needs to be shown for this current coaching staff remaining at UF! Cheers to Gator football in 2024 and down to Hator comments!

I won't predict the future. But I know this, that no matter what happens, 0 or 13 wins, I'll be a Gator Fan. I've let go of trying to keep up with recruiting as much as I did. I will concentrate on who ends up on the team and root for whoever is wearing the Orange and Blue. I hope we keep players that want to be Gators forever, but that is becoming less a reality. I also hope all of our coaches do well and that won't change. As always Go Gators!

IMHO, Lagway needs to be given a few scripted plays, similar to Trask and Jones. Hopefully, Mertz stays healthy and has an awesome year!

Mertz is out of eligibility after this year, isn't he? And Lagway is a highly rated QB, so...yeah, one hopes he is the future.

I feel like Lagway is our Deshaun Watson. I think we recruit well, but the QB is going to be the difference maker that takes the program to the next level.

The future is Golden, oh wait that's basketball.

FB will be fine and Napier will get us there as long as the mouth-breathers don't run him off.

The future of Gator football is Anyone's Guess. I'm hopeful, but leery. The 2024 team is all Billy Napier's and we'll get a clearer picture of the program and it's future as the season plays out.

I think Lagway will be excellent but we need to develop a program that can sustain beyond any particular player (or coach). Trying to catch lightning is not a repeatable strategy

QBs can make plays, make something out of nothing. But it is still their talents in the system the offensive minds run. If Napier is creative, designs and calls plays that make DJ reach his potential, it could be wonderful. What more can you say at this point?

    ... complimentary football.

It's been forever since all 3 phases have been good in the same year with consistency.

All we need is some momentum and this thing could go electric.
