I would think this would definately make them super competitive amongst the Group of 5 teams. With an expanded playoff might even give them a shot at a playoff spot.

They’re merging their ground and express divisions so they can layoff employees and downsize yet they can afford to throw 25 million at high school kids?

Unbelievable isn't it? Now corporations are in the business of buying college players, for some reason. Exactly how does this benefit FedEx or its shareholders?

Every college and university should insist all departments only use UPS or other package delivery companies otherwise they are supporting another NIL competitor. I know if I was head of the UAA I would have all FedEx software removed from all devices so no one could choose to use their services and everyone notified unless approved otherwise. That is until UPS decides what NIL they are sending money to.

This NIL garbage can't keep going like this. I think the wheels come off within 10 years after fans of all but about 8 teams finally realize that their team will never compete for a NC (again).

I actually think in some cases it's a legit action. When Zaxby's threw $$ at UGA athletes it's easy for me to eat elsewhere, and I would utilize a company supporting UF before a comparable option that wasn't

I doubt that fedex shareholders are happy about this. It does nothing to give value to the company, or their shares of stock.

Is this money supporting all sports or just football? Memphis is occasionally relevant in basketball and might help there. In football I am glad it went to Memphis and not UCheaT

It’s so funny how people say stuff like this - as if they have a single iota of what the fed ex shareholders think or feel

Can't? WRONG - What you call "NIL garbage" now defines the essense and soul of semi pro football, otherwise known as Power 5 or College Football.

Frankly, the vision of the future I see for the sport, is that the traditional "power base" of College Football will be completely re-defined.
What do I mean by that: The Universities situated with the strongest (richest) alumni bases or in geographic areas with multi-national or
international (capital heavy) corporations, interested in the sport, will ultimately use $$$ to become the heavy hitters or to dominate all aspects.

I keep harping that if the Ivy league wanted to get involved they would be able to dominant the college football landscape if they wanted to, simply
because that league has the financial muscle to do so.

Nor is this concept simply available only to the IVY League. The sport could, and probably will, come to rest on the whims of corporate sponsers (such as Fed-X)
in Memphis, that want a piece of the action.

Accordingly the board of directors of said corporations will be dictating to Universities their peculiar requirements to "keep the cash flowing", in other words, the
cigar smokin boys, in the smokey "back rooms", will be calling the shots. Dictating to NIL administrators, University Presidents, Board of Regents, AD's and Coaches
who they want "recruited" and how the programs will be run.

Think I'm crazy? This shit is already happening and will go to levels we currently can't even imagine.

Think the smug SEC won't be affected? LOL.

"toprow" posted: I think the wheels come off within 10 years after fans of all but about 8 teams finally realize that their team will never compete for a NC"

I agree that college football will be unrecognizable in ten years, but probably for different reasons than you. I see Universities having less and less control
over their football programs because of the "money". I think Universities will lose complete control of the "brand" and will be regulated to the "whims" of the money
masters. Think about it - They already destroyed amatuerism. Next up is the elimination of traditional rivalries, some of which have lasted for many decades.

The corporate and/or private money interests will demand more and more affiliation and rights toward decision making. It's going "NFL Light", that process is well underway. The "Big-Split" will be when certain teams pull away to form entirely new leagues, perhaps even to divest completely from "Universities" or "Colleges".
