If we ever do it, the only reason would be to have a very different small pickup. Sort like people who modify the VW beetle to add a small truck bed. Just a curiosity to take to the neighborhood car show, haul an old collectible motorcycle (eg BSA Bantam) around Daytona during bike week, etc.

That's always been my view, just let it evolve naturally for goodness sakes. How hard can it be?

No, I would actually say you are the misinformed idiot!! did you bother to read the thread or are you so smart you can just assume what i wrote. I stated my taxes had gone up, I stated the level at which FICA was calculated had gone up, I stated that standard deductions have been lowered. Please show me where you come up with the idea that hasn't happen. If you weren't so wrapped in liberal utopia, you might realize I everything I stated was factual and reality.
This is what's wrong here with piece of shit liberal ass keyboard warriors, I guarantee you that you wouldn't call me an idiot to my face, but in this virtual world you think you can get away with shit like that. When's the last time you had a real conversation with someone face to face?

You think it would evolve naturally with the oil industry as powerful as it is?

I probably would call you an idiot to your face. I would have to judge if you are the type of idiot who gets violent or not. I do take your last comment as borderline threatening. I had a real conversation this morning with a neighbor. It was over how many bags of dirt it would take to fill a dip in my lawn caused by the power company when they buried my lines.

So, you generally walk around and call total strangers you are having a conservation with an idiot?
I bet you have a bunch of friends. LOL And usually have a black eye! It wasn't borderline!!!

It would at some point, when it actually makes more sense. As it stands now, this country isn't even marginally close to effectively jam everyone into an electric vehicle. Personally, I just don't want one and really dislike the govt pushing this so hard but don't hate the idea or people that want to head in that direction...more power to you.

    Lot of hate here.

I don’t plan on buying an EV, maybe a hybrid but don’t see that happening either.

I’m an ICE guy that likes the idea that people are starting to buy EVs and hybrids, eliminating the need for gasoline. Thumbs up to each and everyone of them. My wife and I plan our trips to lower the mileage we drive and save on gas and repairs. I’m the same way with vegans. Lower the need for beef, pork, and chicken. I think that’s good also and have lowered my intake of those proteins.

What I don’t like is people who drive EVs and/or don't eat animal proteins want to force me to do what they do.

Eat what you want. Drive what you want. Own all the guns and ammo you want, or not. Just leave me the heck alone and I’ll do the same for you.

Pretty simple if you’re not a Richard Cranium.

It's funny that you never hear about Tesla owners vandalizing ICE cars.

I've continuously had at least one hybrid vehicle since 2006. In addition to much better gas mileage, they have all been NZEV (Near-Zero Emissions Vehicles), something that is important to me and worth paying more for. A plug-in hybrid is likely my next vehicle. For many, that set-up is the best of both worlds.

I read your posts and you tried to tie the increases to Biden when it’s been increasing for 50 of the last 53 years and current deductions were passed under Trump.

I know people that want to drive with leaded gasoline (can still be found in some specialty locations apparently) because they like the performance but we have collectively decided it is not worth the health impact. I’m ok with us moving away from primitive methods of transportation that require us to light things on fire and spew harmful particulates for us to breath.

Plenty of “pro green” /eco terrorist groups have burned and destroyed ICE dealerships out west. You may have a point thought they likely couldn’t afford a Tesla.

It’s been a long time but there was a group eco terrorists that went around torching SUVs at dealerships around 20 years ago. Nothing like the more widespread but lower level vandalism we’ve seen against EVs the last decade.

Very few people will use leaded gasoline. Let them be. You can buy lead at the store to add to your gasoline. It’s such a minuscule amount of people it’s not worth discussing.

You’re misunderstanding my point. It was banned for all vehicles starting in 1975. The industry and people didn’t move away from lead in gasoline on their own, they had to be forced away from it because it was harmful to our collective health.

I agree with this point to a certain extent, but this is the equivalent to being a tax accountant if the national income tax was done away with. Sure you could still make money elsewhere, but this is not far off from the type of economy planning by executive fiat that you see in communist countries.

You can’t tell me that Exxon Mobile’s stock holders are indifferent over news like this. You would be smart to sell any petroleum stocks you had knowing this is coming down the pike.
