If Shelnut catches the baseball in the steal attempt. We have more problems than umpires calls . Nothin to do with umps . Sorry Iowa

I am old school. If you can show command you get a slightly larger zone. It has always been like that. It has been a part of baseball forever. Automated umpiring MIGHT take that away unless they program that in.

I used to totally dislike the idea of automation for officiating. Anymore it seems the way to go!

Obviously it's not just the umps. But we were talking about the umps and so I brought that up. The HBP was before the steal attempt anyway.

Pieced together a good enough effort on the mound to win - but when your 3&4 hitters are a combined 0-8 with 6Ks that’s not going to get it done.

I checked this thread after game was over thinking what’s with the “AH” designation. Looking back early in the game thread and I now know what it stands for. Very good, very, very good!!

A strike is a strike and a ball is a ball. If you command a zone you should not get a benefit. I was a Braves fan, but Maddox got more than a benefit. I am for auto umps.

What's scary is next season appears to be even worse. We don't have a single hitter returning that is a legit SEC talent. Awful recruiting of hitters the last few years.

Reference fsu from last to this year.
Sully must learn to navigate the new era that is NIL and transfer portal. Oh and empty the roster of lesser talent.

I wished it weren't true. But stick your head in the sand will only let bugs in your head.

This is a big off season as he must bring in hitters. However it won't be easy in the new NIL world we live in. I only see two returning starters to this team and those are Kurland and Heyman. Both who have had tough seasons. Gaps are all over this roster.

    Did somebody say bunt???? @Bazza

@74nole at this point, I’d have 3-4 guys with locked positions:
    Ty
    Jac
    Shelton
Donay- yep- Brody. Has come a long way and is hitting almost 280. Take his light tower power, and the fact that he is improving as a catcher and we keep him in the lineup.

After those four, I would make everybody else battle for a position day-to-day until they start putting bat on ball and putting together quality AB’s.

The strike zone is whatever ump determines it to be, and thats the way it should be IMO.. Just be consistent. Ben McDonald was kind of defending Angel Henandez other day. Basicaly said, yes he has a huge zone, but hes had a huge zone for 20 years, shouldnt be a surprise at this point.

I watch a good bit of AAA Norfolk (Os affiliate) who are better than half MLB lineups ;) But the strike/ball challenge is nothing more than comical.

All these sports want to shorten games for whatever reason, still baffles me why(so fits the tv slots my only guess). But heres an idea if thats the goal..get rid of all replays. Players constantly make mistakes during games, so do officials,,, Called human element.

MLB has now outlawed the stall deliveries, Johnny Cueto types.. just absurd. But no more so than only 3 pick off attempts, pitch clocks, ghost runners, no breaking up double plays, giant bases, etc etc.. Doing their best to make it womens softball.
