Interesting that I am not hearing fans opinion on this interview.

Napier is a tough listen for me. Most coaches and athletes are for that matter save for a very select, candid and genuine few. The best being our own Spurrier of course.

Edit: gave it a listen. Pate asked good questions

    Summary:

    We've really improved the player-experience.

We've finally got our process built completely, so now I can concentrate on more important things.

It's best for the team if I call plays again this year.

Special teams mistakes were caused by inexperienced freshmen.

And, I'm excited about the new staff members.

CBN didn't really talk about individual players, nor position groups.

Pate did a 5 minute follow up to this interview and said he was impressed with his visit, believed UF is doing things "the right way" and believes UF will be successful in the near future.

I appreciated his follow up, he seemed 100% sincere.

I put the speed on 1.5 and honestly it wasn't a bad interview mainly because of Pete's questions. Napier did offer some valuable answers specifically, that this is the first year we aren't in damage control and have our systems in place after all the changes to staff, players and overall changing landscape of college football.

Pate hammered home how far behind Florida fell and how great the facilities are today as well as how unique the program operates.

One big piece LTG1 also leaves out is how different the vibe of the program was in person compared to how it is on social media. Said it's a 180 from the negativity and perceptions of media and social media.

None of this means anything if we lay an egg this year but for now it was a breath of fresh air to hear that from a 3rd party source and lends credence to just how much damage to perception social media can do to a program.

I don't disagree. Doesn't mean there isn't truth to what he said especially when a 3rd party touches on some specific issues we've been bitching about. Also, sounds like Napier took away any excuses from himself going forward which you'd think would at least be of interest to those claiming put up or shut up.

I’m not sure why some of y’all think it’s a hard listen. Billy is a great ambassador of Florida football. I think we are very fortunate to have him lead our program. I’m rooting for the guy and hope we have much success moving forward.

Coachspeak in general is repetitive cliches and boring words salad. Napier has a pretty boring delivery on top of that. I'm not singling him out as I have already said most athletes and coaches are awful interviews. I'm not even joking when I say that at 1.5 speed it is an easy listen and actually doesn't sound terribly sped up.

Most of them yes. Generally speaking he hasn't in the past. Not saying I blame him. Also, I think Pate asked very direct questions and also added some interesting perspective as well. He did a good job which I don't always say about sports interviews.
