    We all want the Gators to win every game they play. A 7-0 start would be amazing. As stated: Beat Miami! ( then take it from there).

    A lot of teams run motion to help the QB read zone or man.....its not uncommon.

    Last year, one of the announcers commented on how much the Gators run pro sets, and he was super-impressed! The motion is intended to get defenses to move and show zone or man coverage. Not only that, but by Wilson or another receiver going in perpetual motion the defense has no way of knowing if it is a jet sweep or not. I am beginning to realize people on here don't know just how good BN is at coaching! I am far from being an expert, but apparently some Gator fans don't realize the problem is not playcalling, it's players executing the play or not.

    Be interesting to see how it plays out if we start 7-0 and go 8-4 or 7-5. Overall improved and make a bowl but lose our last 5 or so… I wonder what the narrative around CBN would be or how it would affect recruiting. I think all of us would take 8-4, maybe even 7-5 right now… and be fine having CBN in 25…. But if we lose our last 5…. Would we still have that thought?

    Saturday August 31, 2024. Gator Country. Probably a night game. Miami.

    This is a MUST WIN for the program. We all know it.

    As of now and for the next 4 and a half months, there is no other focus as far as football games go.

    A few thoughts after reading the thread. First, I appreciate Doc keeping both topics to discuss current and the positivity he brings. This board at times can get absolutely insufferable and posters like Doc help keep the balance for those that swim in the middle of the stream.

    If we go 7-0 to start, these boards will be more positive, but the doomsday crew will be in the wings waiting for the Ugly game to bring them out. A 7-5 with a bowl I believe will definitely keep CBN another year. With the new D coaches, I’m hopeful that we can get a D back in the top half of the SEC. Should that occur and ST be average, I think we have a fair shot at 8-4 and possibly 9-3. The latter option would give us the mojo we need to sell recruits and lock up another talented class. Get to that point and life will be grand for Gators as things begin looking up.

    Finally, if individuals don’t understand what motion and “fake motion” are for, nor that a true pro-style offense is appealing to high school talent, they probably shouldn’t be revealing their thoughts to a football group.

    Go Gators!!!

    It would probably mean definitive proof of the existence of a just and loving god in the universe who is also a Gator fan, which I suspect would draw some media attention.

    I am in full agreement with you on the schedule. We could go 7-0, but Georgia and Texas are losses, and I am not sure about LSU and Ole Miss. It's good we play them in the Swamp. Whether we beat the Tigers and Rebs will depend on the health of the team. I also think FSU is beatable!

    I also hope we can get a couple of OL's, another DL for the middle, and another receiver. Someone will question the 85 scholarship limit, and I'm not forgetting it. Obviously, the Gators are looking in the portal, which means we will have some players that will be told they will not be playing. Trust me, it will work out! BTW, the Gators got another walk-on in the TE from Air Force. He will be working on a Master's in Engineering, and I believe there will be more of him and not less!

    Agree, UM is a must win! Miami is a very talented team, and the Gators will have their hands full. If the OL can contain Miami' s pass rush, we will exploit their weakness--the young cornerbacks. If we can put pressure on the quarterback, and I believe we will, our defense will come up big on turnovers. If we can't get pressure, their qb and wr's are good enough to make this interesting!
