everything is wrong with allowing invading tyrants to do what Russia has done to Ukraine. Want peace, gth out of Ukraine, including Crimea, but they don't want peace, they want capitulation.

Talk about flawed logic! Peace by surrendering to an aggressor? Really?
Damn, wish we would have thought of that in the 1940's. A lot of lives would have been " saved". That reasoning is beyond stupid.

It’s always better to resist, to the last man, rather than negotiate with an adversary who’s offered to let you keep your lands without losing a soul.

Peace in our time . . . I wonder where I've heard that before?

In this case, peace can only come through surrender and enslavement. I don't see you volunteering to become a slave to a nation of barbarians.

And guess what? The killing of Ukrainians will not stop if they surrender to Russia. The rate of killing will be reduced, and the killings will be done privately, but Ukrainians will still die, especially if they do not cooperate sufficiently with the enslavement program. But, WAIT! There's more! Millions of people will die in the Middle East and Africa once Putin has control of the world's breadbasket and weaponizes it to force these countries under his control. By the time a decade has passed, we will probably say that the number of Ukrainians that died in this war is trivial compared to the number of people worldwide that died from Ukraine's surrender. And guess what happens when people in the middle east and Africa start dying of starvation? They typically turn to radical Islam to help them cope. Guess what happens after millions of people turn to radical Islam? The next 9-11 happens. So, as long as you are o.k. with giving up national security in a decade to keep out some brown-skinned people (who want to pick your vegetables and change your roof) today, then rest assured, you're doing the right thing, with your "Peace in Our Time" motto.

    See above.

...but hey, what's it to me? I've said from the get, I'm not really invested in the fate of the Ukrainians. At least I've been honest. From the beginning.

You'd fight Russia to the last Ukranian....because you have such sympathy for the poor Ukranian slaves...

    Got it.

Just tragic that those poor Ukranians have but one life each to give, to satiate your blood lust for poking the big bad bear in the eye...

Germany arrests 2 for allegedly spying for Russia, planning sabotage to undermine Ukraine aid (msn.com)

BERLIN (AP) — Two German-Russian men have been arrested in Germany on suspicion of espionage, one of them accused of agreeing to carry out attacks on potential targets including U.S. military facilities in hopes of sabotaging aid for Ukraine, prosecutors said Thursday.

The two, identified only as Dieter S. and Alexander J. in line with German privacy rules, were arrested Wednesday in the Bavarian city of Bayreuth, federal prosecutors said.

They said Dieter S. had been discussing possible acts of sabotage in Germany with a person linked to Russian intelligence since October, and that the main aim was to undermine military support given by Germany to Ukraine. The suspect declared himself willing to carry out bombing and arson attacks on infrastructure used by the military and industrial sites in Germany, prosecutors said in a statement.

He gathered information on potential targets, including U.S. military facilities, they added. Alexander J. allegedly helped him to do so starting in March at the latest, while Dieter S. scouted out some of the sites, took photos and videos of military goods and passed the information to his intelligence contact.

Nope. I believe putinova isn't the shadow of Hitler.

    Behold--Polland--not too much smaller than Ukraine--fell to Hitler in 2 days (with half of Europe domino falling within a year afterwards...);

Putinova spinning his wheels in a sliver half the width of Florida going on 3 years.... with NATO unscathed, unthreatened.

Clutch doze pearls fur all dey're worf, to justify your bloodlust.

But pardon me if I chuckle at the absurdity.

PS--100k of your fellow Americans are getting felled by chicom fenty pumped through our southern border per year--in fact subsidized by the chicoms.

Nice to see you care so much more about Ukrainians, than your fellow Americans.

Wear that blue n yeller lapel pin with pride!

what perplexes me is that you’re missing that the Russia and China threat are connected. I’m worried about Russia especially because of China. How pubs keep missing this I don’t know.

Why do other countries have to be threats ?

I think the U.S. should go threat-free for a year. Just a year and see how it goes. It would be like a cleansing diet. I think we’d all feel better.

Wow, great they caught it. Info like this needs visibility.
Similar to the terrorist attacks in Moscow and the war itself, it helps if we get facts out before Russia propaganda can manipulate the issue and their citizens (and Putin supporters everywhere) lock onto inaccurate conclusions.
Just imagine mtg if this attack was successful.
Good post, I missed this event.

I can appreciate that, with the benefit of time, you think the Russian indomitable “war machine” was a myth. However, I doubt you have that firm belief at the start of the War, and if you did you’d be in the minority.

Still, the anti-appeasement crowd, of which I am a member, sees it differently. In 1936, when German annexed the Rhineland and started their conquest, the Nazi war machine was considered mostly loudmouth bluster. The following 2 years when they seized Austria, and ultimately were appeased when they took the Sudetenland, they grew stronger. And, as we know, none of the European powers wanted another war, and more importantly, none of the powers were in any way ready for war. And so, Chamberlain did his thing — which was immensely popular and celebrated at the time — and agreed to stand down based on the now-famous Hitler promise that Sudetenland was all that Germany would grab.

And Germany grew stronger, while the rest of Europe lived in a stupor of disbelief. Nobody wanted war, nobody could stomach war, and rightfully so given the last war.

    Nobody but the insatiable Hitler.

When Germany blitzkrieged Poland, Europe was shocked, but that was it. They had to say enough was enough.

And so they said — but did nothing at all. A year went by while Germany furthered their war machine and readiness, while Europe sipped wine.

Appeasement in 1939 didn’t work. But what if Europe acted decisively in 1936, when a still relatively weak Germany first crossed borders? That would have likely changed the world.

Russian aggression is, in my view, a direct comparison to Germany’s. Russia wants what it had, just like Germany. The difference is that Ukraine was ready and armed (to the world’s surprised) to defend its land. Russia was punch3d hard in the mouth. It will need to consider the punch when it looks to broad its reach into Moldova and other former states.

I think history tells us it would be monumental is take to stop the aid to Ukraine. We should continue the aid to the fullest extent, so long as Ukraine has the will and desire to defend its borders.

Russia is being used by China. They're the red cape du jure being used to coax the bull (us) to pursue it to exhaustion.

As soon as Russia ceases to be of use to China they'll drop em like a hot rock.

In the meantime, we've driven Russia into China's loving arms.

We established that connection, and we're nurturing it with our War Pig posture.

I'd rather us seek to foster an economic relationship with Russia and isolate China, rather than continue to refer business to China.

Russia's much easier to deal with.

    Jmho/fwiw.
