What Would It Mean if Florida Was Undefeated Going into Jacksonville?

    To be undefeated, the offense will have to operate on a high level, and the defense will need to get a lot of stops! What does it look like for the offense to play at a high level? Consistent drives and lots of scoring will win against most teams. Yes, that will be a shock, and, let's face it, some of those games have question marks! Miami is going to be a tough test. We lose our first game, and the Gators are likely playing uphill from then on. Starkville will not be an easy game, nor Knoxville. Many of the first seven games are winnable and loseable. We can have fun now, because reality comes in the Fall. If starters stay healthy we should have a decent record going into Jax. Can we be undefeated by TWLCP? It depends on low mistakes football. Florida cannot be missing out on scoring opportunities and, at the same time, giving opponents points. The defense will have to play at a high level too! Trey Smack will have to remain healthy, because field goals may determine a win vs a loss. Gator Nation, your thoughts? I cannot control the negativity here--that's up to you--but I am asking if you go the negative route, can you at least discuss what it would take to win each of the first seven games?

    Definitely, Florida needs to take one game at a time, and play with an attitude! No more lethargic play, missing tackles, giving up big plays, and ST snafus! I do not expect Samford to compete with us (if they do, that's a bad omen), but every other opponent is going to require players to be mentally focused with their head in the game! We need to see the Gators beat up their opponents, not beat themselves!

    I agree with Nick De la Torre, BN will have to find packages for incorporating DJ to be a spark to the offense. How DJ is used may mean the difference in a win and a loss. I must add, assuming the defense plays well!

    It would mean Happy Times in Gainesville.

    The critics would be forced back into their dungeons to ruminate.

    The Universe would return to its normal state of entropy.

    And I will be heading to Jax to bask in the glory of another UF / UGA classic on the banks of the mighty St John's river.

    If Florida goes into Jacksonville undefeated, I'll be in an alternate universe.

    For those of us old enough to remember, I have way too many memories of Dooley's Dwags breaking the Gators heart on the last weekend of Oct to begin fantasizing about a undefeated Gator team heading into that game......I agree with the sentiment I read in some of the earlier posts......lets just take this one game at a time.

    7-0 after week 7 is something that I noticed is a possiblilty IF we improve in multiple areas. The schedule, collectively, is quite difficult, but there is no one in the first 7 that I would write off as a can't win game. Given that 5 are at home and the Cowbells are on the road is winnable, but biggest obsatcle to 7-0 might be at slUT. I'd say that we wer fortunate to beat them last year so anything is possible.

    Well the OP is talking stringing 7 wins in a row when historically the best BN has been able to do is 3(McNeese St, TN and Charlotte). On the other hand he has put together 4 losses and 5 losses in a row. So I'm not getting overly excited. Just taking it one game at a time.

    Most of the first seven games are not a cakewalk. However, they are more winnable. Obviously, the last five appear to be the toughest to eek out a win; however, not impossible.
