I'm concerned...about the mental stability of anyone still claiming the 2020 election was stolen. Despite the best efforts of the DOJ, Cyber Ninjas, pillow guy, Rudy G, Sydney Powell, lawyers in 60+ lawsuits and the Orange One himself, not only has widespread fraud NEVER been proven, no one has even established a prima facie case of such fraud.

I think not. Our nation works better when the two parties are strong and sane. Compromise is a good thing not sure how it became a curse word.

 

Reminds me of bush v gore. Florida ended up close to a tie but bush got a couple hundred more votes. Gore wanted to only recount where he thought he could pick up votes. The Supreme Court stopped the nonsense. Later on news organizations did a recount and the total vote change by dozens of votes. Bush did beat gore in Florida.

 

You can blindly follow anything you want. I have no doubt and know how the courts rule. But when a district increases mail in ballots by 10-fold, and vast majority for one side, I tend to think verifying signatures should be done. But hey you guys don't, I am not trying to convince any of you to what I think. I am only stating what my "concern" is. Oh yeah when signatures were attempted to be too be verified there was a long list of posters here with no concern that jumped on the bandwagon of how much their signature has changed over the years. I'm not election denier, I get the great opportunity to live every day in the current situation we have and who our current President is.

Counting cast votes was not nonsense, it was consistent with well settled Florida law.

Your recollection of the subsequent recount efforts by media outlets is not accurate. There were several recounts performed and the results varied depending on which standard was applied and whether overrvotes were included. Gore won Florida under several scenarios.

It’s interesting when Trump started propagating the idea the election “was stolen” I thought surely no one will follow this because Trump tells them to. That’s one of the biggest disappointments with maga-repubs is how they believe everything thing he tells them and he does no wrong.

Agree but if the SCOTUS didn't step in and end the recount there wouldn't have been any doubts as to the result of the election. Although it wouldn't have changed the fact for that election the Constitution should have been amended following the 2001 election to eliminate the Electoral College since it no longer served its original purpose if ever did. In Federalist Paper Mo. 68 Alexander Hamilton proposed the Electoral College because he believed that a group of wise men selected by state legislatures would better be able to select a president than would the popular vote. Ironically he was concerned that an unqualified demagogue could be elected to the president and believed that the EC would prevent that possibility. Instead the EC was precisely responsible for that result in 2016.

Take a step beyond just the appearance of fraud due to an increase of mail-in votes. How would it have unfolded where the majority of those votes are actually fraud? What would have happened from A to Z from someone obtaining the ballots to sending them in without getting caught?

 

As the saying goes, never wrestle with a pig because you'll just get dirty and the pig will like it!

 

Well...... I am not a criminal so I cannot totally speculate on what a criminal enterprise would have done. I would say though you send out ballots and follow up to see that they are sent back whether the intended voter sends them back or not. If I recall correctly, mail in ballots were being sent in weeks before voting day. A few very dedicated people could easily compile 1000's of these ballots with votes for the desired winner and if the mail in ballot was not tabulated you add these in as received in on voting day. May seem farfetched to some, but all you have to do is look at the hated posted here to see that just a few could be very motivated to ensure the desired outcome. All these can be verified with signature matches and postal dates of the ballots. I'm not saying that this happened, I'm just saying if the desire is there, it could. I have said all along that what we have in DC today is the result of the election and accept it.

 

Actually, if you read my post I agreed that if the count completed George W. Bush would have carried Florida and won the election anyway. Unlike the defeated indicted former president and his sheeplike followers I didn't deny the validity of the election results. It's rather sad that a defeated candidate with a severe case of narcissistic personality disorder is unable to acknowledge that he lost a free and fair election and perhaps even worse that his followers unquestionably believe whatever he says.
