GIBB'S GAB -- LSU @ Florida 8:00 PM (UPDATED!)
Posted 10-09-2008 at 07:50 AM by Sir_Gibby
As promised, the Gab of the coming game brought to you by the Gib.
My goodness, an athlete wishes to harm a fellow athlete? This IS news!

Hide the women and children, right?
I'm sure Mr. Francois meant nothing by his comments but this is America and we have too many journalists with too little to do. Perhaps the words were misconstrued, elaborated upon or even outright made up to get a few hits on a blog page, fact is they're out there and getting air time.
Now, let's stop pretending and start believing that these words indeed came straight from the mouth of Mr. Francois, in between delicious bites of one of those corn dogs everyone's talking about. Yum.

Thus, Francois and Friends seem to be adamant about getting to Tebow. With that being said, I guess they've been waiting until THIS game to actually get to someone, much less sack them. LSU is an admirable 11th out of the 12-team SEC in sacks with a whopping 6. And the victims of these sackmasters? Appalachian State (3-2, FCS), North Texas (0-5, Sun Belt), Auburn (3-2, SEC) and Mississippi State (1-4, SEC).
Let's break down the points allowed in each game by LSU's talented defense:
Appalachian State: 13
North Texas: 3
Auburn: 21
Mississippi State: 24
Looks like the first two games went well against a FCS opponent and bottom-feeding North Texas of the likewise bottom-feeding Sun Belt conference. We actually get our best take on LSU's defense by looking at their SEC matchups. Auburn has scored 21 or more points exactly 3 times this season. The other 2 who gave up at least 3 TD's to a team suddenly so upset with their offense that they've given the "Das Boot" to their OC? You guessed it, Louisiana-Monroe and Southern Miss, aka non-BCS opponents.

(Monster.com's newly registered user: Frank'sOffenseTanks).
And how many times has Mississippi State scored 24 this season? Only one other time. Care to guess who it was? Yeah, Southern Louisiana. Man, those Louisiana teams have some AWESOME defense, right? RIGHT?! Wrong.
Not counting the LSU loss, Miss State has averaged 11.4 points per game but somehow LSU's D gives up double this amount 2 weeks ago.
And Mr. Francois himself? He's accumulated an unheralded 1 sack and 0 quarterback hurries in 4 starts against some of the (insert degrading adjective here) offenses in the nation. That's un and zéro for you Mr. Francois.
That French blood runs deep I guess, huh Rick? You talk a big game but when the challenge is there you've been a no-show.
Here's a recipe for disaster for Mr. Francois, LSU and the rest of the frenchies in those parts: A Florida Blitzkrieg. Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast and somewhere along the way that defense will bend, buckle, break.
Either way, win or lose, the LSU carnys take their clown,

-ahem-, coach, and retreat back to corn dog festival, USA. I smell something else this weekend though and it's ripe with defeat for the visitors.
The Gab: Gators – 31, Tigers – 19.
P.S. Can't cheat your way out of this one, Ricky. Sorry folks. You take a cheap jibe at a Gator great, you better be ready for the backlash.
