well its thursday now, i think its the sixteenth though i wouldn't swear to it, and our indian summer (is that still p.c.?) appears to be over. this is real autumn weather. drizzly, cool (highs in the sixties and lows in the forties)...and you can smell the fire curing the tobacco on the drive home from work.

and its thursday football, and we have the nolies and n.c. state. fsu went up by 3.
looks like nc state is gonna score again. yep they did. ncs up by 4.

its already headlights time at 5:30. will have to bring in the plants soon so they can barely cling to life in the basement til next spring, past danger of frost...when they can see the sunshine again.

but fall's kinda nice, i will miss it. its nice having the colors change in the leaves, the sky is a deep autumn blue, i like the sound the leaves make in the tree when the frequent breezy day rattles them around. and i like the ground covered in leaves and hearing them crunch when you walk, and seeing how much fun the dog is having prancing around and jumping in them. (eating them, and then barfing them up later...not so much)...having pumpkins carved, and non carved sitting outside on the porch, and the bench under the pink dogwood, and a straw scarecrow sitting next to it. the leaves of the dogwood turn a beautiful deep scarlet.

but then...this doesn't last that long. and it'll be winter.
