In the eyes of the sports video game community, it doesn’t get any better than the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers. With Tuesday’s release of Madden 13, the highly successful football franchise of EA Sports, you will be able to notice that the Packers and Patriots were revealed as the cream of the crop entering the upcoming NFL season with each clocking in with 91 overall ratings.

The Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Rams received the lowest team ratings with 72 while the Packers’ NFC North Division rivals, Chicago and Detroit, were rated 83 and 86, respectively.

On the Packers, MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers (99), guard Josh Sitton (95), linebacker Clay Matthews (94), wide receciver Greg Jennings (93) and center Jeff Saturday (90) lead the team individually. Ironically enough, undrafted linebacker Dezman Moses, who has had one of the team’s most notable camps, was the Packers’ lowest rated player at 55.

I can't wait to start playing more of Madden 13 with my poker friends and see how well I perform. These team ratings will definitely play a role in my decisions on which team to pick during my weekly football pool.
