my grandson and 2 others have been friends all their lives with matt barkley the true freshman starting for uscw----they all live close together in irvine ca 60 miles away----matt has stayed at my house while growing up and he is a true phenom----absolutely the best person i have ever met and thinks like no other human being---all to the good---he is TT west

the one gift i want before passing on is 4 our gators to annihilate uscw 4 the NC---all my relatives and most of my friends are fanatical addicts when it comes to uscw football as i am 4 UF----i now root with all my heart for matt barkley to win every game and lead the lambs to us 4 slaughter---
if it comes about we play each other for the title should i lie and say i want matt to win or be given the silent treatment the rest of my life--
i would appreciate what you think i should do--thx

I do not believe in the lie, however given the information in your post, there is a time and place for everything. :yes:

But leahy knowing the true Fan that you are, smart people will see thru the charade so just continue to be the Gentleman that you are and smother those around you with acolades for Matt and USC. Dwell on their positives,as you know talking negative about anything is detracting and generates ill feelings between people. You can talk positive about the Gators also. If this comes to pass......... enjoy the game for the Gators would own them. :laugh:

Heartfelt post, leahy, I feel for you. Stay honest and stay true. When it becomes necessary, tell each one how you feel in as few words as possible and they will respect you for it. If they are your true friends they will understand and appreciate your divided loyalties and will not fault you for it. If they can't understand and refuse to honor your loyalty to your own school and team can they truly be deserving to call "friend"? Put yourself in their place. What would you want to hear from them? Don't beat yourself up emotionally over this.

Good Morning Gators! Gorgeous here in Palm Coast. Signing in to work early today, need to get a couple hours on the books before my grandson arrives for the rest of the morning. Feeling better about the upcoming tilt with UGA but too many memories of past hopes dashed to ever feel comfortable about a game with the Dogs.
