yeah, it is sort of fun ESPECIALLY sharing the GREAT news and good work...... parents are sincerely amazed at their writing skills. I will say we are turning out much better writers over the years. My own daughter marvels at what some can do and she was a "good writer" in 4th. Glad I saved her papers to see the difference.

Its sure is a LOT of work - and my body is paying for it now :laugh: I'm off work for a week starting this Friday and hope to finish the diggin on Friday.


I think I'm gonna put a concrete table and benches with an umbrella where the grass was. If not, then just make it a large flowerbed and finish off the stone path. It will be mulched for sure - no more grass over there ever again!

Well yesterday it was AWESOME
They were so confident and worked hard, then upon finishing ALL looked over their work~ of course I promised a kickball game afterwards IF I saw hard work. My young proctor was amazed at the "quiet and intent effort" so I felt I had done my job.

I'm hoping for the same attitude today!

I dislike testing in early March~ wish it were in late April for sure and give me more teaching time prior to the TEST~ but it is what it is and my team does their best to have them ready.

A good outside game in this beautiful weather soon makes you forget the 80 min test~

I am a test opponent as I believe it puts way to much empahsis on inanities & forces time to be spent on test related stuff rather than a broad range of subjects that combines teacher creativity & student interests. I lost that battle when it was fought in the legislature in the mid 80's and all the negatives I presented have come to pass, but then I opposed the lottery as an education funding source, knowing the funds would ultimately be replacement rather than the enhancement the PR machine trumpeted

Had a blast yesterday. I canoed up the Santa Fe to where it rises out of the ground in Oleno State Park. Beautiful trip. Passed a stretch of river where Wysteria was growing thick along the bank, the smell was awesome. Some of the blossoms were dropping in the river, and floating down river. Beautiful . . .

got some news my mom is having surgery on Friday~ I'll be going up for Spring Break and taking care of her. Role reversal for sure~ Keep her in your prayers. She is frightened for she loss several siblings to cancer, so she is thinking the worse case. Send me some good mojo for her~

but poor Mama~ she went to the courthouse yesterday to get a tag , ran into an old friend....who told her "That is how my cancer started." So she got a gut kick for sure, especially since she has lost several siblings to a variety of cancers........Last year was especially hard, she buried two sisters and daddy. We were wishing for her to have a "good year."

Nana came out of surgery doing well. The tumor was the size of a butterbean~ only in Bama would you hear that!

The biopsy won't be back for a few days..... leaving on a jet plane tomorrow. I really appreciate all of your kind words.

After nursing her, I'll be ready to return to the 9 year olds.
