Got all my reps in; well at least for those I could. I apologize for being an every other day repper for the past week but with all the flooding up here, my family and I have been helping with sand bags. You would be shocked at how much water there is up here. Had a house split in 2 on Thursday from a huge piece of Ice that broke off of the lake. In the county I live in, over 30 roads are closed due to being under water to bad. Another 20 are under caution and only trucks and semi's can go through because of 3-4 feet of water. It's getting pretty crazy around here. Will try my best to get back on here everyday. :)

Appreciate it. Growing up in Florida I have never seen anything like this before besides on the television. It's just amazing what mother nature can do. There are a lot of people up here that have lost everything. It's very sad when you drive around and see all the destruction from the water. The bad thing is this is just the beginning.

I don't think any apology is necessary, at all. However, I appreciate your sharing the story with us. Mother Nature is indeed incredible. Funny thing is I thought the same thing when I moved to FL. Growing up in NY, the worst we had were ice storms or a blizzard, but that was commonplace. When I moved to Gainesville though and experienced Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne, I was beyond amazed.

I have a friend who lives in Fargo and she basically blogged the last time the rivers overflowed. At the time she was living in an apt on some elevated ground but the things she experienced and wrote about were almost beyond belief.

It's awesome of you, though, to go and help. I'd rep you again if I could, for just being a good person!

I've usually have only recieved at best a 60% return and an average of 50% return on the reps that I give out 25 reps usually return me 15 reps on a good day,

It is probably getting worse as more people achieve the maximum visual award of Stars and Bars.:geek:

I missed my late night rep last night, but caught up this morning.

However, I do 25 reps a day or until I am handcuffed. I am lucky if I get 15 in return per day. Most days, I only get around 10 in return.

Also, I think at one time people were getting a star once every 4 days. It seems that has increased back to 6-7 stars if I am not mistaken.

maybe you were out of town but many of us still make it a point to find a computer and post one time each day----

I understand leahy's frustration. I typically send out 25 a day and right now am getting back from 8 - 15 or so a day. I haven't had as many as 15 in a number of days. It is also easier to send out if you have a place to go and/or a person has posted recently. The good news is that reps are worth so much more from each person than they were.

The way I look at this repping thing is two fold. First it's a challenge to see if I can get to 20 stars, which I expect to do by early next week.

Secondly and actually more important it has been a great way for me to get to know the people here on the Pub. The Pub is a great place and with great people and playing the rep game has helped me get to know them.

I made a comment on one of these topics along the line what is this rep stuff anyway. Leahy emailed me like I am sure he did many of you and explained it all, points, how many each day, gaps between each time you can rep the same person and even how to do it quickly. I did all 25 last night in less than 25 minutes and expect to do the same thing tonight around 11:30.

So it pains me a bit for leahy to be frustrated as it wouldn't be the same without him. It's not to hard to post here every day or so, and in fact if you make more than one post in the same day it gives people about 3-5 days, with the gaps between, where they could rep you.

Anyhow I expect this will end in the near future but I sure don't want it to right now and when it does grind down I will be very happy about the people who I have gotten to know thorough this rep thing.

I rep when I can, which is not very often anymore. I used to try and do it at work but about half of the employees are about to be laid off and Im not going to draw any negative attention my way by being on GC repping people on company time anymore. If I dont have class I usually try to get on in the evenings and rep then. Weekends are no good. I stay outdoors too much and will be on the internet less than an hour during the whole weekend. I do like the game and I do rep when I can but it will never be high on my agenda. I have too many more important things going on.

The repping has been fun, so I don't want to direct this at anyone specifically or bore you will with my drivel...though like a true bloviator, I'll say it anyway :).

It seems to me (in using myself as the example), that I probably only receive about the same a day as what Darth and Leahy said , even though I regularly sling my full 25 each day,,,usually.

However, because of different reasons, people check out for awhile, don't rep for awhile or whatever, plus the parameters set by GC (i.e. 25 reps in 24 hrs, must rep 40 others before re-repping the same person and not repping the same post twice), I think it's unlikely that many of you fellow pubsters are getting 25 reps or more a day simply because of the parameters and the dynamics of it,,,, unless of course you are just kicking it up on the other threads where people will do some rep. (feel free to embarrass me if I am wrong).

In any case, it's not worth it to me to worry about not having rep reciprocated right away given the reasons above. But perhaps most importantly, as others have said, this should be fun and the fun part of it is, for me at least, is getting to know you all through this little diddy of thread (and the Pub, generally) not necessarily that you all rep me back.

It may be just me but in any case if this new trend continues there is no reason for me to continue the game -------

Sending out 75 reps over the last 3 days and receiving back only 29 reps tells me the game is over----at least for me---
There is no fun in repping and not being re-repped-----If this ratio continues for the next week I shall also retire from the game--------
