Well it finally happened. I am so pizzed I can't stand it. The green blob has invaded my Sony 60" SXRD. During the race last night with company over to watch because "I have the best TV".

I've had the damn thing 2 and a half years so I doubt my warranty is still valid.

Anyone gone through this with any advice on getting it fixed? Thanks in advance.

Looks like there's a class action lawsuit (http://www.breakitdownblog.com/class-action-lawsuit-against-sony-for-green-haze-or-green-blob-sxrd-problem/) in the works. The link also has some addresses/phone numbers for possible resolution or repair.

You might want to check avsforum as a lot of guys over there had this problem.

Just an update.

Thanks for the info Steel.

Called Sony and after some really stupid questions and some "tests".
They gave me 2 numbers to local repair shops in the area. One being the Consumer Center, that Vanders and Flip recommended to me when my lamp in the tv died.

I called them and within a week I had the repair done and am back to the best tv picture I have ever seen.

If anyone in the Tampa Bay area is interested in Sony tv's, I highly recommend the Consumer Center. Sony tv's sales and service is all they do.
