I'm new to the whole GPS thing, although I'm sure I have the concept down. I was wondering if the new Maylong FD-220 GPS unit is a good choice for an entry level unit. I'm considering getting one seeing as I am kinda bad with directions and hate having to ask people how to get to places. Thanks.

Never heard of it, though a quick google search reveals it is equipped with some kind of "for dummies" interface.
Personally, I'd recommend a Garmin Nuvi for a lower end GPS. I believe the 200 model is their lowest end one, and should run from $150-200.
The Garmin interface is incredibly simple.

I only bring up the Maylong because it's $120, which is cheap. I was thinking of that or a Mio DigiWalker, which I've heard is highly recommended and $150. I'll look into the Nuvi, but that "For dummies" thing sounds like it suits me...

Garmin's interface is about as "for dummies" as it gets, and they are a lot more respected brand in the GPS world.
I'm really not trying to burst your bubble on this Maylong thing, but for another $30 or so, you can get a GPS from a well known and respected GPS manufacturer. I'm sure TomTom or Magellan make one close to that price range as well if you shop around. I've just never used either of those brands so I can't speak on them.
