I just got a new blackberry (Curve 8330) and am trying to import my phone numbers from my old phone into it. I've created an excel file that looks like this:

NAME Phone Number
Al E. Gator 3522221111
Alberta Swamp 3523334444
and so on...

The name section is in column A and the phone number is in column B. I'm using Excel 2003. I've tried importing as an OSV file and as a regular excel workbook file.

I'll run the import on outlook but it will only import the names for some reason. When I pull up a contact, Al E Gator for example, it will correctly list his name but have nothing on there for the phone number.

I can't seem to find anything online that addresses this so any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Outlook has a specific file format for Contacts. If you do a test "export" from your current Outlook Contacts, you'll see all the columns (First Name, Last Name, Title, Company, Phone, Address, etc.). "Phone" probably isn't column #2, which would result in your phone numbers not being imported.

You could do an export of your current contacts, empty the resulting spreadsheet, then put your data in the correct columns (leaving the rest blank). It should then import correctly into Outlook.

Note: This advice is from memory without looking anything up, but it's something you could try. I'll poke around the web later if this doesn't work.
