Purifoy will play offense for the first 7 days of spring ball
Rhaheim Ledbetter and Gideon Ajagbe will be at fullback for the first 7 days of practice I would think one of them would stay there after the first 7 days.
Humphries is 280 now
Easley will play DE and DT
DJ thinks Morrison will be 230 by the time the season starts

Surprised Purifoy is listed as starter
I thought the coaches loved Q Williams at DT on the practice squad?
Where did the Ledbetter to FB come from?

Williams seems like a depth move for spring ball and we are pretty deep on the dline especially when the rest of the new guys get in.
I just think they want to give Purifoy the reps since he will go back to defense.
I think Ledbetter was just a little behind the other guys and we really need another FB. Ledbetter was a pretty good RB in college and can really hit so he should do well at FB.

believe because of lack of depth at offensive line and FB this spring is the reason for the move but what does it say about Williams and Ledbetter being on defense going forward?

One thing to remember is who we have coming in in the summer. We have 3 safeties coming in and no fullback. We have to have a back up fullback. If Ledbetter can gain 20lbs he will do great at the position.

That linebacker core scares me, will RoPo be a linebacker come the Fall or will he be at DE? (Yes I know he will be a Buck, whatever that is). Taylor and Kitchens have not show much outside of the fact that Kitchens sticks around to sing the alma mater which is admirable but I don't know how that translates to hitting Keith Marshall or Todd Gurley in their mouth when they come through the line. Already two freshman in the two deep at linebacker so we really can't afford any injury.
Safety will be ok, there is a lot of talent there and competition to push the other players.
DLine looks stacked and for the moment I actually have confidence in our OLine!

I understand what it is, but they don't appear on the limited list, out list or in the two deep. To me, that means they are both behind both Burton and Westbrook at this point. Obviously, this is just a pre-spring depth chart and they will have every opportunity to move up, but it is surprising not to see them there.

CWM doesnt care at all about a spring depth chart. Those guys have not played of course they are going to be behind the guys that have. He is not going to list the 3rd and 4th TE on the 2 deep depth chart. Dont think it is that surprising.

Westbrook has had more meaningful playing time than Kent Taylor? You're telling me that you are not surprised to see Westbrook listed above Taylor? Kent got more playing time in the bowl game than Clay Burton. It could just be a motivational thing from Muschamp; my point was that I was surprised not to see either of them in the two deep if they are not limited or out. No reason to be condescending.

ROPO DE/BUCK this LB thing is not going to happen. Expect the LB depth chart to change. Ball is limited in spring practice because on an ankle. McMillian should push Taylor for the Will spot he is already 227. Everybody will be fighting for the other LB spot beside Morrison when we are in Nickle.

Wasnt being condescending I just wasnt surprised the depth chart looked that way. I expected it Clay and Westbrook to be the two TE's. I do expected it to change by the beginning of the season. I don't think its a motivation thing either those two have to earn their spot.
Right now Kent Taylor is just a big WR at 6'5 225lbs. He still needs to add 10 or 15lbs to be able to block DE's in the SEC or he is just going to be a slot WR.
I am really excited about Colin Thompson hopefully he can be the blocking TE we want and need once the season starts. At 6'3 250 he already has the size needed for the position.

Dante Fowler, Jr. DL 6' 3" 263- lost the bad weight
Jonathan Bullard DL 6' 3" 265- also lost the bad weight
Trey Burton RB/WR 6' 0" 225- he lost 3 inches lol
Alex Anzalone LB 6' 3" 230- nice size ready to play in the SEC
Daniel McMillian LB 6' 1" 227- ditto
Matt Rolin LB 6' 4" 208- love the height
Antonio Morrison LB 6' 1" 229- gained weight would be nice if he could stack on 7 more lbs before the season started
Alex McCalister DL 6' 5" 230- still needs to add weight
Both guys are big boys
Leon Orr DL 6' 5" 310-
Darious Cummings DL 6' 1" 309

I think those two will stay outside. We have some good players inside right now and we have more coming in the summer. Easley playing inside or outside depends on how the guys inside develop and also what kind of teams we are playing like Power or spread.

* BEING CROSS-TRAINED
» Ledbetter (safety) and Ajagbe (linebacker) are both working at fullback for the first seven days of practice. Ledbetter also played running back in high school, while Ajagbe has yet to find a long-term position with the Gators. “Both of those guys, the first seven days are going to give a shot at fullback and kind of see where we are,” Muschamp said. “Rhaheim played running back in high school, is very effective, catches the ball well. He’s got lower body punch and power. Gideon has not contributed much for us on defense since he’s been here and he deserves the opportunity to try and get in a situation to help us.”
» Purifoy will play receiver exclusively for the first seven days of practice but remains a starting cornerback for now. “Loucheiz will play the first seven days full-time as a receiver,” Muschamp said. “I felt like, again, a guy that hasn’t been full-time at that position, it would be good for him to go through the first seven days. [...] They watch film in our league, too, so you can’t just always put Loucheiz in and throw a screen and run a reverse with him every time he’s in the game. We need to expand his package if we’re going to continue to move forward. He will still remain a corner on our football team, but he’s going to do the first seven days [on offense].”
» Williams, who was expected to be in the mix at defensive tackle, will give playing offensive line a go early in spring practice. “Quinteze Williams is a young man who we wanted to move over to the offensive line. A guy that’s got some size and girth to him, he’s going to continue to gain weight,” Muschamp said. “We felt like his opportunities at offensive line were going to be better than on the defensive line. He wanted to make that move.”
^ LIMITED FOR SPRING
» 67 Jon Halapio (knee) – “We feel like he will be ready to go [Wednesday] as far as spring ball is concerned,” Muschamp said. “He may be a little limited in some contact early in spring but certainly will be released after that.”
» 83 Solomon Patton (arm) – “Solomon Patton will be limited through the spring with the broken arm,” Muschamp said. “[He] has been a very effective player for us, really hurt us offensively when we lost him in the Georgia game last year. He was a guy that made a lot of plays for us on special teams and on offense. He’s a guy that I’m excited to get back. He will be non-contact all of spring.”
» 11 Neiron Ball (ankle) – Muschamp did not get into specifics on Ball but said he expects him to be able to practice when everything begins on Wednesday.
OUT FOR SPRING
» 75 Chaz Green (ankle) – “Chaz will miss spring with the ankle surgery he had after the bowl game,” Muschamp said. “It was a little more serious than we thought. He will be fine for fall. We’re just going to hold him through spring right now.”
» 7 Ronald Powell (ACL) – Muschamp did not get into specifics on Powell, but he is still recovering from his ACL injury and is likely being held out both to further his rehab and as a precaution against re-aggravating the injury. He may participate in non-contact work if anything.
» 9 Matt Rolin (ACL) – Muschamp did not get into specifics on Rolin, but he is expected to take a redshirt for his freshman season as he recovers from ACL surgery.
» 77 Ian Silberman (shoulder) – Muschamp did not get into specifics on Silberman, but he is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and will likely only participate in non-contact work.

One thing I noticed from the press conferences is they really like the EE's. They think those kids are physically ready to play in the SEC which is huge, hopefully they can get the mental part down. From watching their senior high school film (JUCO too) you could see they most of the EE's would be ready to go by the time the season started. The staff did a good job identifying players that contribute early and getting them in mid year. We really need the freshmen LB's to step up.

The roster actually looks pretty good, especially on D. The LB's have some experience, so I'm not completely worried there. If we had Hoke as the DC I'd be more worried.

The most promising weight gain I saw was Bryan Cox from 235 to 260. He could get in the mix at Buck or even a SSDE on passing downs.
Not worried about the weight of the EE LBs. We've had guys come in under 200 and turn into playmakers in two years. Morrison came in underweight and still wreaked havoc. If he's gained 13 pounds since the season, I see no problem getting another eight or nine on him by August. McMillan looks good to go now. He'll be over 240 before he leaves UF.
Wish McCallister had gained a little more, but his high school weight was exaggerated. He apparently showed up at UF weighing about 210. 20 pounds since September is good progress. 10 or 12 more will get him on the field in the fall, depending on what position he's slated for.
Glad Fowler lost some weight. That should settle the talk about him moving to SSDE. He was awfully quick at 277. Can't imagine how he'll be now. He's about ideal size for Buck. Bullard losing weight is telling. He will stay on the strong side.
Not worried about Ropo's weight. Better to lose weight during rehab than to gain it. He'll be back near 250 before he plays.
Don't believe for a moment that Burton is only 6'. I've seen him standing next to OL and appeared to be about the same height. Running in the open field, he looked like Collinsworth or Doering. That's either a typo or someone was lazy when they measured him.

always thought Cox was going to the DL he is a SSDE still dont expect him to play much this year.
Like I said in the post above roster now has Alex McCalister at 6'5 238 he still needs to gain 10 or 15lbs but he might get on the field next year. His development excites me the staff rave about him all last year.
You could tell Fowler was carrying bad weight last year glad he dedicated himself in the off season.
Somebody said CWM said Bullard was really 280 I dont really care what his weight is as long as he is in shape.
I also think Trey's height is a typo

Riggs and Gorman are short but Maye is 6 feet tall and Watkins (plays safety in Nickle) is 6 feet tall. Plus Neal and Harris are coming.

Gatoraz, Mcallister is listed at 230, not 238. Pretty big difference for a 6'5 guy. I hope he does get over 240 before the season...but that's a lot.
I'm glad to see Cox up to 260. We need one or two of the freshman (rs or not) to become a regular (get into the rotation) at DE this fall. I hope he's the guy.
Fowler losing weight is great. If he stays at Buck he needs to be quick. Good news there.
