Yet Semerene is definitely worth a close look, as he proved by drilling a 70-yard field goal while training with kicking coach Brandon Kornblue, as initially dug up by USA Today. Yes, 70 yards. If that went through in a game, Semerene would be the new national record holder for a field goal at any level.
Given the strength of his right leg, there is absolutely no reason to believe that he couldn’t deliver that kind of a blast in a game during his senior season. The Weston (Fl.) Cypress Bay placekicker clearly plans on competing in college, yet he hasn’t received any officials scholarship offers as of yet.

I may be being pedantic but there looks to be quite a breeze swirling around in that video ;)

yea that wind was insane. Plus UF just took a kicker so I doubt he would get an offer.

I too thought there was a lot of wind. He had to hook it hard to the left to have it come back between the uprights. Still, he's got potential.

Didn't we just get a punter in Townsend? A punter, not a place kicker...

UF is not taking a specialist this year and it is super windy in this film.

It's windy so it's difficult to tell how much of that distance is wind-aided. But I will say that I really liked how high his kicks were. Often when they're going for distance, you'll see a line-drive type of kick, or at least a lower trajectory. His kicks all had nice form which would help to prevent any blocks. He could be a good one.
