Does anyone know where the big heavy hitters at football games hang out? Back when I was there, it was mostly the Bull Gator level, but now with the North End Zone boxes, have the movers and shakers moved there? Or were there even better boxes above that I didn't know about?

It's just for a silly story I'm writing, but I'd like to get the facts right, and UAA is surprisingly unforthcoming about this on their website. If I needed a scene taking place in a Big-Time Corporate Box, what part of the stadium would that be? Is there a common mingling area nearby? I went to the Bull Gator level a few times after games (they used to let us idiot hacks go there after deadline and drink and eat the leftovers), but that doesn't seem like a corporate-level collecting place. Any ideas?

Thanks

The bullgator level has its share of heavy hitters, but if you are wondering where business and connections take place it is in the skyboxes above the west stands. Although there are certainly heavy hittes in the Gator Dens in the north end zones, the corporations buy the bigger boxes (skyboxes) to entertain and conduct business and pleasure at the same time. Each box has its own bar and bartender and a food set up as well as a bathroom, stadium seating and hightop tables and stools above the stadium style seating. There is some light food and a dessert table set up in the area behind the boxes where you get off the elevators and walk to your skybox. There are also couches and sometimes they will have a small group of musicians playing. That is where you can talk with other skybox guests if you don't want to just go visit them in their box. There are a few boxes on each level where there is a slight angle, that are 50% larger than the rest of the boxes and have two rooms in them. Hope that helps you.

It helps me understand fully that I will most likely never get an invite to visit during a game....so I'm marking that off my "bucket list". Thanks for the info, I didn't know.

I met Ben Hill Griffin III on the Bull Gator Deck. My seat was behind George Steinbrenner's but he wasn't there that day.

I think the heaviest hitters are there (or its west stands equivalent) or commiserating in the areas outside the west stands skyboxes. There are buffet spreads in both locations, complimentary beverages, etc. I met Gene Ellenson there.

I've been a guest in both spots but didn't like it and haven't gone back. Those locations are like being at a party where the game is on in the background. You're glassed off from the Swamp beast & cannot feel the passion of the crowd. Nice buffet, but I'm not there for nice buffets.

If I were wealthy I would be a Bull Gator but I would give those seats away and sit in the ones I have. Except I might like to try those boxes over the tunnel entrances. Those look cool to me, uncrowded yet fully in the mix.

Honestly, I love the TD Terrace seats. We had 2 there and 2 on the 35 by the student section. While fun and loud there is something to say about the food, nicer bathrooms, oh and AC when you need to go in to get out of the heat. You have fans blowing on you, individual seats, and TV's to watch the replays. It also was a cool view to just be at the right height up and see the plays evolve from that angle. I miss those seats and being in Gainesville. :(
