WQAM (560-AM) has fired show host Dan Sileo after 11 controversial months.

WQAM program director Jorge Sedano confirmed that the station had parted ways with the former Miami Hurricanes lineman, who came to the station in April, originally as a drive-home host.

Sileo was moved to the 10 a.m. slot after Sedano took over as program director in September.

Sileo took to Twitter to comment on his firing, saying: "Want to thank the Folks at WQAM for having me...We differ on content...WISH them WELL and GOOD LUCK..I WILL NEVER CHANGE!!!!"

Sileo followed up that tweet with others calling the station "soft" and that "WQAM isn't for me" because it feared him.

Sileo came to WQAM after leaving Tampa's WDAE-AM last March. Sileo resigned after he called three black NFL free agents "monkeys."

Controversy followed Sileo to South Florida. He was suspended by WQAM in January after sending sexist tweets to Fox Sports broadcaster Erin Andrews.

Sileo's rant following Miami's September loss to Kansas State went viral on YouTube and extinguished most favor with the Miami fan base. WQAM is the Miami Hurricanes Radio Network's flagship station.

Kevin Rogers sat in for Sileo on Monday.

Sedano said that WQAM will take its time in finding a full-time replacement for Sileo. Sedano said that both in-house and outside candidates will be considered.

He's terrible. The only good thing he ever did was get good guests.

He is one of those people I consider very lucky in life. No matter what they do it's like they always win a lottery. He may have been fired in Tampa, and now he may have been fired in Miami, but it won't be long and he'll have a job on another radio station somewhere. As in the past he'll make a lot off $$$ spouting off his opinions! Yup, he's lucky!

Well... sure.

Just check out his picture.
Look at his demeanor...
He's got that, "How ya doin' " type look on his face.

The difference is that Kiffy has that bratty look of a narcistic sociopath...

Both are arrogant and feel that they can do no wrong...

"I will never change...." Hmmmmm....

Exactly right! I've always said the same about Lane Kiffin!

Some people are very lucky. They keep winning a lottery over and over again.

Sedano, the guy that fired him, isn't any better. I listened to his show on 790 the day after the Gators beat OU for the title and the tantrum that Cane homer threw was one of the most infantile 3 hours of radio I've ever heard.

But as for the news about Douchebag Dan?

I can't help but ask why you listened for 3 hours?

Probably best of breed in the market, especially if you follow the NFL. He's certainly no Gator fan tho.

Actually I found him to be a real gentleman off the air, but as you say, he's no Gator fan, so he can KMA, too.

I remember how he swore Percey would not make it in the NFL.
