Good for him. That is unacceptable.

"This woman has the ear of (at)McConnellPress — she's his (hash)wife," the group Progress Kentucky tweeted on Feb. 14. "May explain why your job moved to (hash)China!"

I don't know if that's racist. But it's really offensive and really stupid.

So is this:

McConnell and his wife have faced similar slights in the past. In 2001, former state Democratic Party chairwoman Nikki Patton apologized for saying that McConnell "passed up some good Kentucky pork to chow down at the Chinese money buffet."

Incredibly bad. It's bad enough that someone thinks crap like that. How stupid do you have to be to say it publicly?

Just slightly more stupid than thinking and saying it privately.

Beyond how obviously bad this looks coming from a group that is ostensibly one who is supposed to be the more inclusive group, the larger question is, why are you letting a volunteer be the one who is your face to the world? That's just stupidity....

River I agree with you that it is stupid and offensive. Please note that stupidity and being offense does not play favorites with race, physical appearance, creed, culture, gender, age, and sexual preference.

The stupidity and offense starts with two words.
"Them" and "Us". Those two words give us humans the opportunity to assume that there are differences between "Them" and "Us". In reality those difference are not real.
The only way to resolve this issue is for us humans to identify other humans as "Us".
