Big implications for the SEC title. With a win Kentucky moves closer to challenging the Gators for a share of the league title. A loss and they would need a big upset by Vandy over Florida to hold out any hopes.

Gawd, I want the pigs to win this game but I really hate what passes for basketball in the Nolan Richardson style, and I hate the way their fans lap it up. That dude just absolutely hammered Goodwin on the way to the hoop and the fans loved it. Now they're booing that he gets free throws.

Arkansas was incredibly physical when we played them at home, yes.
In case you haven't noticed, this is the drawback of playing on the road in the SEC this year.
EDIT: Worth pointing out that the amount of foul calls were fairly even. I'll say that charge call was pretty terrible though.

Yeah, by the end of the half I was slightly more content with the calls. Don't think its decided anything.
Did any of you see the stat of Arkansas' home record vs their away record over the last 2 years? I can't imagine how that is possible.
I know I've been harping on the refs and know this sounds like I'm piling on, but Doug Shows is calling today's game. UK is 1 and 10 in close games (decided by 5 or less) with him as a ref. I'm not crying foul about today's game, just a little worried.

Kentucky's recruiting class is going to be much better next season including the Harrison brothers. I just hope they don't get Randle and Wiggins. If they do, odds are about 7 out of their top 9 next season are going to be freshmen.

NBA draft often has more to do with potential than college effectiveness or contribution. UK has 3 projected first rounders (not including Noel) on this team and each of the 3 would be drafted on potential, not on what they showed in college. In past years, UK freshmen played beyond their years in college and were able to be drafted on more than just their potential. Other than Noel, not this year.
HALLGATOR
03-02-2013, 06:09 PM
Seems to me the key would be how much they could possible improve their draft stock if they stayed another year. With Noel I don't see that as much since he is already slated to go really high.

What makes their decision tougher is how weak the draft is this year compared to next. In the end, I think what should matter more than draft stock is how set up they are for their second contract. Easy for me to say though as there isn't that money on the line or risk of injury.

Because it represents the danger of Cal's recruiting philosophy. He got the wrong band of NBA minor leaguers this year. But yeah, guess you are right. All he has to do is push the chaff that didn't work out this year to the NBA before they are ready and start over.

From people that I trust we are going to lose Noel, Poythress, Cauley-Stein, Goodwin, Wiltjer, Harrow, Mays, Polson or Hood. Of course all of these are not to the NBA. I look for UK to add two more to this class IMHO. I think we have one hell of a chance to get Wiggins and Randle, I really do--of course that helps little this year--and of course they may not play well together.
