Jerry Palm's new bracket is out. Here are his top 4 lines.

1: Indiana, Michigan State, Gonzaga, Georgetown
2: Duke, Miami, New Mexico, Arizona
3: Florida, Michigan, Louisville, Kansas
4: St. Louis, Butler, Kansas St., Syracuse

Others of note: Marquette (5), Wisconsin, Missouri (8), Tennessee (11), Middle Tenn St. (12), Kentucky (12), Ole Miss (last four out).

Former Gator Coaches: Oklahoma (10), VCU (8)

I'd take his 3 seeds over his 1 seeds any day. No question about it. Actually I'd take them over the 2 seeds also.

He has Florida in the East. The most likely path to the title would look like this for you guys -------> Davidson, Pitt, Duke, Michigan State, Indiana, then title game.

I actually think that this region could end up breaking down pretty quickly like Florida's region did last year. Obviously this is more likely with any region this year than most IMO. But I could see MSU and Duke not even making it to play Florida. I could see MSU losing to Syracuse and Duke losing to either Oregon or Oklahoma, although thats more of a stretch.

Dont see any way in hell that Zona gets a 2 seed over us. They have lost two home games to unranked teams in a conference thats just about as bad as ours.

I don't think those will be accurate in a couple of weeks:

My Final Four based on this bracket:

#1 Gonzaga
#2 Arizona
#3 Florida
#3 Michigan

All of a sudden, I'm reminded of those animated boat (or whatever) races they used to have at the movies and I think still do in between innings at baseball games :joecool:

Teams will continue to surge and fall back until the last conference tourney is over. I'd love to see us end up ranked somewhere between 5 and 8, and still snag a ("undeserved" (according to Dick Vitale or somebody)) #1 seed, although #2 or #3 seeding wouldn't be bad at all.

Then, hopefully Yeguete will be rounding back into shape and we'll enter the NCAA Tourney full-strength, yet firmly "under the radar".

Agreed. That line of three seeds would be tough.

I don't know, man. I want nothing to do with a bracket that forces us to go through The Izzos and Indiana.

Beat Bama! Rankings and seedings will take care of themselves.

I like this kind of speculating a heck of a lot better than what was going on just a few seasons ago. Then we were trying to determine if we could get into the Big Dance.

This is why this year I feel like the only advantage of a #1 seed is that you avoid Indiana. Outside of that, it's really just going to come down to matchups.

WERD...the only game we have to worry about is the next one.

Michigan State lost two last week.

Arizona just lost at USC Wednesday night.

Ole Miss in.

Tennessee out.

This seeding doesn't make sense.

I agree if we were a coach or player, but these discussions are fun and the type of things we should enjoy as fans.

I think sometimes as fans, we invest so much in our teams that we feel like we are a part of the squad and say "the right things".

It will always be technically true that the next game is the most important, but this is good hoops discussion in general. I'm not sure on every thread like this its necessary to be reminded of the "1 game at a time" mentality that is really just for coaches and players unless we were on the bubble, of course :)

Are you referring to the Indiana that just lost to the Minnesota Gophers?? LOL

I don't see any team out there that is even remotely unbeatable, including UF.

Indiana is still the most talented team in the country, and frankly a bad matchup for UF. With a healthy team I like our chances vs anyone, but Indiana is the team I would least like to play.

Yep. Sometimes it's good to stop, sit back and realize that you have it good.

Just made Tennesse's worthless season.

Now Kentucky will be looking for the same cred.

You could make a good case here, they are very talented. More importantly, if you're in their bracket, you would most likely face them in Indianapolis in the regionals, if you make it that far. Getting shipped out west against the Zags, would also be a disadvantage, imo.

But, who knows?, sometimes the higher seed loses, then the bracket takes a U turn. like last year for UF, when Mo lost as a 2 seed. But that's why they call it MMadness:crazy:

We aren't playing like a #1 seed right now, but maybe we will. Realistically, we should be around 8 or 9 and a 2 seed if we're lucky. If we win out, we could move to a 1 seed. If we get hot, we can beat anybody. If we don't get hot, we can pretty much lose to anybody. Thus is the conundrum that is college basketball.

teams have been jockeying for position all year....we've all been moving up, then dropping back after a loss. no team, thus far, has been immune to the 'advance and fall back' syndrome. expect more.
