Interesting match-up in Heinz-field to start the season:

I'd rather they play there in late November.

Didn't take long to get to the point here. I tuned in to see if there was something I didn't know about this game.

After a narrow win, the criminoles will once again set themselves up for huge disappointment as they declare "WE'RE BACK"!!!!!!

Not even close to what the SEC did with scheduling Florida vs Texas A&M in College Station. The only favor we got was we played Johnny Football during his first game.
So who did FSU replace Pitt with from the Coastal V. Tech or Duke...

Pitt vs FSU? Yawn. In early September? Double yawn.

Shoot. They'll be talking "we're back!" and NC's a month before Fall practice begins. lol

I bet everyone here griping about it will still watch some of it.
It may not be a big time matchup, but it's better than some of the preseason cupcakes that a lot of teams play.
Plus, watching FSU lose their first game will be a great way to start the season.

Here is my general rule about watching Ref$u play football. As long as the game is close, meaning the Noles are in danger of losing, or the other team is blowing them out I will watch. If the Noles start pulling away or are winning big early, I'll walk away.

^^ Guess most will watch. Pitt is usually a decent, bowl caliber team and FSU doesn't blow those teams out

And FSU will be breaking in a new QB and some new defensive players too. Ought to be interesting IMO.

Same here. I can't stand it when they're blowing some ACC patsy out and the announcers rave on and on about what a great team FSU is. But the ones where some nothing team is playing them close, and especially when they end up losing to a nothing team like Virginia or NC State - I love those.
Every time I see FSU playing on Labor Day or on Thursday night, I thank the Lord that we have Jeremy Foley.

Yeah, but this meets the ever so sought after title of "out of conference and out of state" opponent. What an amazing schedule they have!

I just love it when they build up their hopes preseason, and then they get smashed when they actually have to play the games.
