FAU sells their new stadium's naming rights to a sketchy for-profit prison company, $6M for 12 years. I wonder what the second best offer was.

I think the guy who owns it is an FAU alum, but it's still beyond creepy.

Yes, and former chair of FAU's board of trustees. Seems like he had this thing "locked up."

I think they should embrace the theme. Everyone gets a commissary account at the stadium, where you can buy smokes and snacks. Toilets that have homemade alcohol concoctions, snitches, sodomy, the "whole 9 yards" if you will.

players at the U will be jealous. As a side benefit, when these players go to prison for something, will the private prison company get first priority?

A for-profit prison is a sponsor for a Miami-area university facility? Isn't the entire Miami-area a for-profit prison, or aspires to be?

tegator80: exactly - it's a target rich environment. Dade County = fraud capital of USA

Hmm...it's growing on me. Good ol' hooch, filtered through worn socks. Not at stands or kiosks of course. Gotta meet in some dark corridor, and hope you don't get shanked.

Only if you're not from around there. I would bet that most of us outsiders see it my way.

An argument UGA fans seem to enjoy making whenever they talk about moving the Cocktail Party after a long losing streak.

Is an hour drive from downtown Miami in the sticks or is there traffic up the wazoo? And are the natives just as New Jersey as Miami? I think we all know the answer. Now if you can say that Boca's beaches are not as "touristy" as South Miami Beach then okay, Boca is a 'Burb.
