Not too many teams scare me, only two I can say do, possibly three are Arizona and KSU because they found the blueprint, and possibly Michigan.

Ok, not to be a smart alec. I guess the teams that scare me are Mich, Indiana, and Louisville. I've seen Tennessee suck out loud earlier this year, but they appear to be putting it together. Considering the fact we often have a snafu game up there (and tend to get knocked around with zero consideration from the zebras), I'm worried that they put it all together in their game against the Gators. It will be their biggest game of the year.

I think general concerns would be playing teams that have an extremely good home record and/or is playing well at home recently.
Or any team ranked in the top 15 can certainly get hot in the end.
I do think if UF does get relatively healthly and has everybody playing by the NCAA tourney time then one would think UF would not be a team somebody would want to play in the tourney.
I think before the end of the season it would be good to see a scenario of winning a close game in the end especially on the road just to see if they can win that type of game.
I think this week for UF provides an interesting gauge as to the mindset of where this team is at. You get a road game on Tuesday against a team you butt whipped at home so you know there will be a level of hate/revenge in this game. And then you get the home against a team that you recently lost too and gives you an opportunity to redeem yourself so to speak.
It is a week of different mental challenges and should give helpful experience going into March.

Louisville
might get queazy seeing wisconsin again in the bracket or 'zona would cause some indigestion.
typically, #1 and #2 type seeds won't cause me to be scared - i take those as challenges.
probably be concerned about teams like butler if we were to be paired with them in indy or a team like kansas in a venue where they'd be like a home environment...

The only other team I would put out there is Louisville and the only reason I say that is because they have given us some heartbreak recently. I don't think they should really be able to hang with us.

My worry centers around our two (or three) bigs getting into foul trouble. Having Will back minimizes that a lot, but we still only have three low post players.
Any top 15 team that has more than 3 guys 6'8" or taller who are skilled/experienced. I think that would include Michigan State, Indiana and Miami (to a lesser degree than the other two). I would add Louisville because we seem to have a problem with them, no matter how good they are and I would rather not see either of the the two that beat us (Zona, KSU). I don't necessarily believe that Zona and KSU are better than us, but they certainly know how to beat us and would carry that confidence into a matchup.
My hesitance to label us as a final four team is rooted in that lack of depth. If Young and Murphy avoid foul trouble, we can beat anyone. If they don't, then we become very vulnerable to teams with really good low post games.

With Yeguete back and a healthy 8 deep, no one.
Short handed, too many teams to want to talk about it on the national level. In the SEC, at Mizzou and at UT. Both will be hard games to win playing with 7 players and short depth in the frontcourt.

Indiana is the only team in the country that I'd consider to be better than us. However, would not want to run into:
Louisville -- Basically the same team that beat us last year. I don't think we match up too well with them, but I still think we're the better team.
Michigan State -- There is one coach in the country I'd take over Billy Donovan in a heads up match.
Butler -- Teams that can shoot the three really well have the potential to give us trouble.
Michigan -- Very similar to us, I think they are about as equally matched around the board.
Outside of that, and maybe a team like Miami, I think we match up well with just about everyone.

Not that any of these teams scare me, but I have a hard time looking past the pursuit of an SEC Championship.
I do hope Miami makes it to the Final Four (provided that they're not in our region). Other than that, the teams I want to see knocked out are the teams that have a large fanbase (Michigan State and Indiana in the Final Four would make for a pretty tough ticket). That said, I would love a rematch vs. Michigan State for the championship.

Jeff
In 2007, I was nervous that UF would be matched up against a team with big athletic guards that Green and Humphrey could not guard. That never happened but there were teams like that including a bad LSU team that beat UF with a back court that UF struggled with.
This year I think this team has more flexibility than the 2007 team. Though this team starts 3 guards, it can with Yeguete back in a couple of weeks go big with Prather on the wing if UF comes up against a team with say a good 6'8" wing. So I there is not team I am concerned with. I am more concerned with UF playing UF's game.
I do concur with those who have said I do not really want to see teams like Marquete and Wisconsin who UF has already handle this season.

Our 3-point shooting has been excellent. But, the thing that we can bring every game in the Tourney that separates us from any team I've seen is our defense.
The thing that scares me most is a game where the refs call it very close and fall for flops and offensive players jumping into the defender, which could take us out of our intense defense and/or get us in deep foul trouble.
But, as to other teams, I think Indiana and Mich State are both looking tough.
I wouldn't be too worried about facing K State again. I think if we play a decent game, we'd beat them handily. I think Arizona's excellent guards will not fold under our pressure defense (which they didn't see in our first game IMO), but their bigs were not that great, so I think we'd handle them too.

as for the teams I fear as far as our matchups go
in order;
Kansas
Arizona
Indiana
Ohio St (yes the same team that got killed today by Wisconsin....I want no part of this team)
Kansas St
Syracuse
Butler
for some reason Duke scares me as far as matchups go.....however they are AWFUL defensively. we should beat them
Michigan St. is not a strong team fundamentally or athletically but they are tough and Izzo can win them games. We should beat them 9 out of 10 times on paper. I just want no part of them.
Michigan we pound....miami is an aberration as far as elite teams go. they are maybe 12th or 13th best in the nation. a physical team with skill will beat them every time. They would lose 6 games in the big 10 this year.
Notre Dame is a team that I have respect for.

Teams that can pressure us in the back court and disrupt our high ball screens and drop back to guard the basket. That's the blueprint to beating Florida. Everybody has to be thinking how to take the perimeter away from us, some have the personnel to do it. I'm not sure which of these top teams do.

Gonzaga scares me the most, two big guys that can play, could be some matchup issues.
I know a number of people said AZ, and I know they beat us but, I think we take it to them if we meet on a neutral floor

Indiana has to be on the list. They are just fantastic. Has anyone seen their team's 3PT%?? Wow.
Louisville beat us last year, and their defense appears to be every bit as good as ours.
Michigan has some impressive offense.
Syracuse has nice balance. And they actually won at Arkansas.
Michigan St, Duke, and Miami seem to be pretty good too.
I guess the term "scare" is reserved for Indiana. The others on this list are still capable of beating us when we are having a good day. Indiana might be able to beat us when we are having a great day. Basically any other team in the final 32 can beat us on an off day.

Butler looks like a Final Four team this year. The tourney is different now. With the exodus of super-talented players and team continuity thrown out the window, teams like Butler that love to scratch and claw for points, hound you mercilessly on defense, and slow the game down to a crawl are absolute hell to catch tourney-time (as we know firsthand).
VCU is a match-up nightmare for anyone.
Wisconsin always scares me come March.

I don't really consider teams we would meet in the elite 8 or final 4 worth listing here because those should be tough games.
For teams we would see before then I go with:
Wisky - have seen us this year and they have been playing better of late.
Minnesota - Have been up and more down recently but the B1G is a tough league. They have the horses to give us some trouble, especially inside.
OK State - Smart is one of the best in the NCAA and teams with a player like that can always take out some of the top seeds.

Vegas currently has Michigan as the favorites to win the NCAA tournament at 4/1, with Miami and Indiana at the same odds as us at 5/1. Duke is at 8 to 1, followed by Louisville at 10 to 1. Where the money is going is usually a good indicator of how tough the team is.

1. Michigan State - Izzo has them playing very well now. He's a great tourney coach and really knows how to coach up his defense against our offense.
2. Indiana - can get really hot offensively and break down a defense different ways.
3. VCU - I think they could be primed for another tourney run. Coach knows how to do it and they have long fast players that can turn up the heat on defense and force TOs, as well as shoot some threes. I'm not saying they're better than us, but I can see them playing a game like Arky did against us, especially if we catch them in an early round game and overlook them.
Some of the other favorites like Michigan and Louisville I don't think match up well against us. Same for Miami and Duke.
Syracuse might give us some trouble.
Just my take.

If we are healthy, we can beat anyone in the nation on a neutral court.
Will we beat them? Who knows? But we certainly CAN beat them.
Anything short of the Final Four this year would be a huge disappointment. This team can go all the way if they don't beat themselves.

As an Arizona fan, Florida is the one team I don't want to see at all come March. It took a bunch of McKale magic to beat the Gators, and if the two teams meet up again on a neutral court, I think the payback would be quite unpleasant for Arizona fans.
Miami doesn't scare me. Meet them past the Sweet 16 and the bright lights get to them. Duke doesn't scare me either, especially if you play them outside of N. Carolina. The top of the Big 10, Indiana and the two Michigan schools are teams I'd prefer not to face, especially Sparty, because Izzo knows how to win in March.
Regardless, if Arizona faces any of the above teams in the tournament, I'll be very happy, win or lose, because it means at least an Elite 8 run. And given the fact our front line is 3 freshmen and a raw sophomore, all 4 are returning next year, we get transfer T.J. McConnell off his redshirt year plus Rondae Jefferson, I'm expecting bigger things next year. Arizona just has too many flaws this year, but a deep run will be great experience.

Assuming that we'd play well, I still think we'd be a favorite against Mich if they didn't have McGary (or whatever their big man's name was) and he wasn't really a big factor back in February. Things change.
I didn't list Louisville back then, but they were my favorite to win it (aside from UF which I had some hope attached to it) going into the Tourney. Not much of a limb I went out on considering they were the overall No. 1 seed :joecool:
