This is a tough one . . . And I can really see both sides of this.
Your thoughts?

I feel for the guy but think at times he's gone overboard and been way too extreme in his demands from the Rockets.
Houston probably LOVES having a guy like Parsons in their team now.

There are certain businesses where there cannot be major accommodations for mental illness. Flying an F22 is one of them. Playing an 82 game season where you have to take multiple flights a week when you are afraid of flying poses severe problems.

I think he's got some personality issues as well. I don't know tons about him, but its hard for me to have much sympathy for him.

Fear of Flying, like all fears (Fear of Death being the strongest) have utterly monstrous influences on human beings.
If there are two things that one can say about humans with almost complete confidence, those are:
1 - Humans are Social Animals - if you randomly distribute 100 individuals who don't know each other onto a football field, within about 1 hour, there will be distinct groups forming, and within likely a couple of days, there will likely be trade and warfare between the groups that have formed.
2 - People are largely driven by fear. Most decisions and actions are driven to a greater, or lesser extent, by fear of something or other within the context of their cultural Taboos, of course.
