I would love to see them slip to a two seed in the bracket where uf is the top seed. I am underwhelmed.

Most overrated team in college basketball and I truly believe that.

Only caught the last two minutes. The charge call against Maryland at about the 1:00 mark was horrible. Looked like the refs were going to give Duke that one.

Agreed. You guys would handle them.

I hope Duke is in our bracket. We would smash them on a neutral court.

Duke deserved to lose this one as they only had for the whole game 14 rebounds and 12 assists. The only thing that kept them in the game was Maryland turned the ball over so many times....25.

People keep forgetting Ryan Kelly is out. As long as he gets back for the tourney they will have a shot at winning it all. If not they won't.

Maryland dominated but for turnovers. Game was called fairly until the last 5 minutes

He will certainly help.... If in playing shape. But even still, duke is not a team that I would put in the title hunt, or fear having in our bracket.

This, especially if we get WY back. Coach K's intimidation of the ref's concerns me more than anything. What a potty mouthed phony he is.

What is the record for court rushing allowed in a season?

If you have nc banner hanging in your gym it's just pathetic.

actually I would think it should be the other way round. If you have a title banner, it means you have been there before. Court rushers don't hit me as the championship type.

I agree but would say the Coach K/Duke rules kicked in at about the 10 minute mark

I'm thinking about both teams. How many has Duke allowed this year? I think one for each of their losses.

I don't know, but manhattan rushed the court after beating Iona last night in 3ot.

Maryland won, so I guess that many folks in College Park will need to buy new couches on Monday.
BTW, Duke wasn't that great even with Kelly. I would take the Gators over them if they had Kelly and we didn't have WY. The only team that worries me a lot is Indiana. They are very good.

I agree with you that the in playing shape is key. We saw that getting Kyrie Irving back a few years ago didn't help. That being said I'm not sure what evidence you can use to say Duke isn't in the title hunt with Kelly. With Kelly Duke is undefeated. They beat Loiusville, OSU, and UK. Now we know UK isn't as good as we thought but they beat a pretty tough nonconference slate. Kelly is their second best rebounder, best defender, and best three point shooter. More importantly by stretching the floor he makes Plumlee better. It IMO would be like us losing Yeguete and Murphy because he is a player that combines Yeguetes defensive ability with Murphy's 3 pt shooting. In the end the simple fact is Duke never lost a game and played some good competition with Kelly so how can you argue they wouldn't be in the hunt with him back? Especially in a year with no dominant team.

Maryland rushed the court because coach K ripped them apart in the media before the game. Saying they are in the middle of ACC country, but now since they left, Duke will never play them again, and that Maryland will be lost, blah, blah, blah.
It was personal to those fans.
Thats my opinion anyway.

According to the box score, Maryland shot 34 FTs, Duke 21. How favorable to Duke could the refs have been?
If Ryan Kelly and WY come back, Florida matches up very well with Duke. Young would really bother Plumlee if he plays smart, Florida would probably have a strong rebounding advantage and an athletic advantage in the back court that would really cause Duke problems.
Getting a #1 seed in a region with Duke as the #2 seed would be a good draw. But Duke won't even make it to the Elite 8 so its mostly a moot point.

You had to watch to understand. Md took it to Duke all game and in the last 5 minutes, when Duke got down 10, the calls changed.

Yup...the refs were clearly keeping Duke in it late. Just watch that so-called "charge" called on UMD. Ridiculous.
