Don't flick off a judge or you'll get punished.
Don't publish pictures of you flicking off customers at your job or you'll get punished.
I don't know, seems relatively self-evident to me.

LOL, "possession of Xanax"? What kind of ludicrous non-crime is that? U.S. drug laws simply aren't worthy of respect, and neither are the kangaroo courts and the tyrannical black-robed overlords who rule over them.
I'd say flipping the bird at these freedom-destroying parasites is pretty mild compared to what they really deserve.

I mostly agree about the Xanax.
And the irony is...whatever country that judge came from, it's probably a 'finger-shake' punishment.
$10,000 was probably the annual salary of a judge back in the motherland.

saw this earlier...and while I have little sympathy for the girl's own stupidity in flicking off and cursing at a judge---what provoked her actions?
..the judge being a power-hungry pr*ck after she said "adios" to him and he apparently took exception to his considerable pride.
Look back at the video...the judge had already set bail and the girl hadn't mouthed off or shown contempt to that point. She says "adios" and walks away...the judge calls her back, re-ups her bail to show everyone what a big hotshot he is--and that's what prompts her reaction.
I understand the need for decorum in a courtroom--but this situation was entirely caused by a judge getting a bit too full of himself and not exercising common sense. While all of us are "LOL"ing at the girl right now--keep in mind, all of us are paying for her sitting in jail for the next 20+ days. Because this asshat on the bench has a sensitive ego.

The girl was goofier than she needed to be, but it's ridiculous for him to get offended at the word "adios" given in response to a seemingly condescending "bye bye." We don't need judges that are so emotional and so quick to get offended. The middle finger gesture (while I've never understood why people actually get offended by that) came after the ridiculousness of the judge, and certainly was worthy of punishment for its disrespect...but 30 days in jail for that? The judge should be forced to spend it with her. He's supposed to be the professional here. The whole notion of having to treat judges like royalty is beyond absurd. They're still supposed to be servants of the people.

That kind of thinking mirrors the "to serve and protect" mythology surrounding the police, which is demonstrably false. After all, if a man can legally have you tossed in a dungeon for doing nothing more than offending his sensibilities, he's not your servant, he's your master.

I get what some of you're saying about the judge but it's obvious that girl is on a path to nowhere. If she's acting that way with severe consequences in front of her I'm guessing she typically conducts herself even worse. I have a feeling this isn't her last rodeo.

This is just the beginning of a movie in which the judge falls in love with her. She shows him the wild side of life, and he winds up at the end in a jumpsuit, giving a judge the finger after telling him, "See ya later, Alligator."

Don't think anyone's trying to dispute the girl's utter stupidity and you're very likely right about her being on a path to nowhere.
But let her be the one screwing up her life--not some hyper-sensitive judge who goes about looking for a bone to pick. You expect an idiot to act like an idiot. We shouldn't expect or tolerate a judge stooping down to her level.

Bingo.
Both parties were stupid, and although you can't fix stupid, we can keep it off the bench.

That's perfect for the Lifetime Channel!!
And there's always the porn version, where she asks for more jewelry
and he reciprocates with a 'pearl necklace' while saying Adios.

Lawyers can be a bigger problem than judges. I once had a lawyer who was supposed to pay off the judge, but I couldn't tell whether he did or not.
