Ole Miss kicking a$$ and taking names. Miss State getting the left over crumbs.

Mullen's job has become more difficult now.

mullen's got short time left at miss state--he hasn't produced like they thought.

He has 7/8 very nice recruits himself. Chris Jones and Ashton Shumpert plus the WR that flipped from Oklahoma State to MSU is a good player as well. Not even close to the recruits Ole Miss is getting though.

Starkville vs. Oxford... Same State but might as well be on another planet.

True. However, in this recruiting comparison, you'd think Ole Miss was 1980's Nebraska or something. It simply does not compute for a 6-6 team in rural Mississippi.

Dan should have parlayed his first two years of success at Miss St into a better job. There were some reports that he may have had some opportunities to do just that but passed to wait for a 'BIG' one. If so, he overplayed his hand and worth. Now that ship has probably sailed. Where will MSU finish in the west standings this year? Most likely last.

Mississippi could Field an all star team and still not win the West

Jerry Rice, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Walter Payton, Michael Oher, Anthony Dixon, Johnathan Banks, Deuce McAllister, Steve McNair, Brett Favre, Ray Guy, Louis Lipps, plus all the countless LBs and safeties from USM that I'm blanking on right now. And this came to me in a matter of five seconds.
Real weak talent pool there.

I think he meant the school, not the state.

I think Miss. State is feeling ok with Mullen.

I'm not sure. But even so, I'm no State fan, but I could still craft a list as impressive as the previous one if I do my research.
Mississippi is probably the most productive state for football players per population size. That's why LSU, Bama, and Auburn routinely raid the state.

No, I mean that I think he was saying that all of the talent in the world wouldn't make Ole Miss a winner. Not that the state of Mississippi is bereft of talent.

This thread and others like it prove that some Gator fans know very little about the SEC West, and even less about Mississippi.

You contend that Ole Miss has the resources & coaching talent to win the West?
