There have been several remakes but Lon Chaney/Burgess Merideth version and the John Malcovitch/Gary Sinise versions were the best.

Out of all the stuff listed--there's precious few remakes that are as good as the original...and I say that despite being in my 20s and am more familiar with the newer stuff.

Only things I'd say better: the newer version of Ocean's 11 and the newer Challenger. The original MJ stuff owns any of the numerous remakes and it isn't close in most instances.

The only "tie" would probably go to the fight scene in "Of Mice and Men"

The original is better in every case except for Ocean's 11. I have seen the original it's not very good.

I haven't seen the new Steel Magnolia's so no comment there.

Haha, not a movie I would go out of my way to watch. I was forced to watch the original with family and only remember tears and red velvet armadillo cake, also Alfre Woodard is the only one I saw in the new cast who I recognized and like....so yeah.

lol, Yeah it's a sad movie, but oh so good. The New one would be like if they made a white A Raisin in the Sun.
