I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed that the currently undefeated leaders of the ACC (Miami) and the SEC (Mississippi) had both been beaten OOC by leaders of mid-major conferences, respectively of the Atlantic Sun (FGCU) and the Sun Belt (Middle Tennessee). Just sort of a curious phenomenon, I was thinking.

That lead me to the most overrated and underrated teams. Personally, I think Duke without Kelly (ranked 4 to 5) is perhaps the most overrated, with Miami (like from 10 to 13) perhaps the most underrated.

Really weird the things that pop into one's head while walking the granddog.

while walking the granddog.
Is that a metaphor? Lots of strange things pop into my mind when "walking the granddog."

Kelly is Duke's most important player so it makes sense they have fallen back so far.

One of our dogs was our son's dog when we got him. Buddy stayed with us while Paul (UF class of '08) went to college and Buddy is still with us so he is essentially our adopted "granddog."

Exactly.

What is really interesting relative to this is that Thor is Juan's dog, but Juan is adopted. So, I guess I should technically call Thor an adopted granddog.

But I really thought it curious that the current (admittedly not for long in Mississippi's case) leaders of two of the top Basketball Conferences (admittedly not this year), both happened to lose OOC games against the leaders of two mid-major conferences.

Can anyone remember when this has happened TWICE previously. It is the fact that it occurred in TWO conferences that I thought was a low probability event. A single such even is not uncommon at all, but TWO - not the usual state of affairs.
