I was just snooping around on ESPN.com at our game next Saturday and saw a few comments from Ole Miss fans about how they are going to get slaughtered by us.....pretty funny. They are a pretty good team so I think it will be a good game, myself.

Here's the link:

Almost all of them appear to be reasonable posts.

The optimistic ones are hoping (1) the Gators have an off game, (2) the Rebs play very well, and, if that occurs, it might be a close enough game that they have a chance to win.

That could happen.

They have a certain similarity with the Gators in that they lost two close games, although the teams they lost to: Middle Tennessee away (21 point loser to the Gators) and Indiana State at home are not as impressive as the Gator's two road losses.

gators are atop of pomeroy and sagarin

1 Florida = 93.91 16 2 77.46( 15) 3 1 | 3 2 | 92.99 3 | 95.04 1

ole miss has quality numbers
27th in defense, 49th in offense

note: kansas state [who beat us]
is 39th defense and 79th in offense

ole miss per sagarin:
24 Mississippi = 85.71 17 2 72.89( 155) 1 0 | 1 0 | 85.86 26 | 85.44 24

sagarin gives 3.5 pt for home court

so, i'm thinking gators will be 13.5 pt favorite

we bring our A-game, shouldn't be an issue.

strength of schedule is quite a bit different too.

From what little I've seen of them, I think they are very good, and a legit Sweet 16 team. I don't know why they're so glum about it. I expect the Gators to win, but they should give us a fight.

OM is a nice team that should get a middle seed. They have a real wild card in that kid Henderson, who's a streaky player and can seriously get it going when he's hot. The thing is, he's a bit of a hothead, and with the heat Kenny and Scotty put on him, i think he gets out of his comfort zone and UF rolls them in the end. I'd be surprised if they didn't get beat by 20, but time will tell.
