I think it's some.... sports cup/all sports rankings. This is why people that start new threads need to qualify their posts/OP's with a link.

It looks like it's football, the numbers are adding the ranks from the 4 sites for a composite. So if we are 1 on rivals, 1 on ESPN, 5 on scout and 4 on 247 we get 11.

Dang, this should be simple for everyone:
1. Football recruiting board
2. Identified where the combined rankings came from
3. Identified the date of the rankings
Rick, there is no link. This is my personal time and work. The 16 slot belongs to Nebraska. Alabama has a combined ranking of 16 which puts them in 4th.

If we wanted to just boost our rankings and hold on to #1, we would want Ramsey, Collins and Adams. If we want to become more competitive with Bama on the field, we would want Adams, Reed and Bostwick. (I'm not considering Nkemdiche a legitimate prospect for UF. If I did, I would put him in Bostwick's place. Reed is probably the most important 3 star prospect on our board in several years. Screw the rankings and stars. Let's play Bama ball.

The funny thing is, most of the services don't even count the addition of Moore and Garcia. Ironically, they're the only proven players in our class at the division one level.
To go along what you said about playing 'Bama ball, I went back and saw that they've brought in 24 (I think that's what I counted) defensive linemen over the last five years, which I think is funny-considering that they run a 3-4. Plenty of their guys are project-type, 3-star players who have good size. They get them on campus, and then they turn 'em into very good players.
Florida has brought in eleven DL/Buck players in these last couple of classes-assuming nobody bolts. We're getting it done across the line of scrimmage.

Take it easy killa....no one's dumping on you here. I thought this was some new ESPiN metric on football rankings.
So you combined all the rankings and came up with this consensus rankings number.........well done dude.

I'd agree, though we're playing catch up. Meyer had a tough final year recruiting on the DL, then Muschamp had a tough time with his first year. He's been loading up since then with a little bit of attrition, but none that I'm concerned with. Thought Jafar Mann was a reach all along. Hope that Westbrook gets moved back to defense. He's a fine athlete with an incredible frame. He's a waste at TE if he's not in the two deep. He'd could be one of our best SSDEs, which is what he was recruited to be. Ivie and Riles look like the types that could fill important roles on our defense within just two years. We've got a mob coming in at LB, even without Hearns.

That 2011 class sort of got blown apart after Meyer stepped down. I know it finished being a top-ten (depending on the service you listen to) class, but we missed on a lot of targets, and Muschamp was trying to hold together a group of guys I'm not sure he and his staff would've gone after. Plus, a lot of those players are no longer here.
So, I don't count that year as one where Muschamp struggled to bring in Dlinemen; not with two months to put a class together. Excluding Phillips and Mann, we've still brought in eleven players across the Dline over Muschamp's first two full classes. We have to get it done there to compete at the highest level.

Scout needs to get their head out of their ass.
When everyone says we are one or two and they stick with seventh, it is reminiscent of the soviet judge awarding a 6.5 to the US ice skater who got 10's from everyone else.

Couldn't help but notice that B10 schools do well in the Scout rankings while SEC schools perform poorly. Kinda suspicious.

ETGator - thanks for doing this.
Shows that Scout is a B1G / Notre Shame Fantasy Football service, and we're competing with Bama for a mythical recruiting title.
All good.
Best thing is this class looks like it will really meet needs in a big way, with stud players.

I was just having some fun about the "Soviets" comment. Nothing serious my friend.
