Jindal took on Obama's call for higher taxes on the wealthy, which the president has argued helps supply money for needed federal programs that aid the poor and middle class.

I have been laboring under the impression that raising taxes and cutting spending was supposed to be the balanced way to reduce the deficit. Has Obama openly stated/admitted that higher taxes on the wealthy are going to be used for more spending, i.e. have nothing to do with trying to reduce the deficit?

Ain't gonna happen. If the pubs COULD do it, they should shut this abomination down, now. Either way, they lose their grip on the house in the midterms.

Then the whole thing about reducing the deficit is a lie. And an incredibly good one. I'm just one of the sheeple too, maybe dumber than a lot of them. Note that even Jindal won't call it a lie. He's no better than the rest of them. They're all in on America's ruin. I guess Jindal just wants a chance to be prez before it all falls apart. But it's strange, almost as if our "leaders" somehow think they won't be hurt like the rest of us when the dollar becomes worthless. Or, maybe Cheney was right that "deficits don't matter." For some reason China or someone keeps right on lending us money like we're going to pay it back.

To hell with it, it's all over my head.
