I found this amusing little article entitled, "Which College Hoops Programs Have Produced The Most Current NBA Talent? Here Are The Top 10." The UF part says:

#4 – Florida

Starters:

- Joakim Noah
- Al Horford
- David Lee
- Corey Brewer
- Chandler Parsons

Bench:

- Marreese Speights
- Bradley Beal
- Mike Miller
- Udonis Haslem

Let’s just call this team “Big Man U” from now on.

Maybe this team wouldn’t make any sense on paper. Maybe this team wouldn’t be able to advance the ball past half court. Maybe this team would have more floor spacing problems than any team in basketball history.

But maybe, just maybe, this team would be unguardable. And my could they defend. What if the Gators could play zone? A back line of Noah, Horford, and Lee would be impenetrable while Brewer and Parsons would add a length up top that the Syracuse Orange would be jealous of.

On offense, Lee and Parsons are both much better shooters than people think, and there would be mismatches all over the place. Noah would be sprinting around setting screens, and other teams would be exhausted midway through the third quarter. If they absolutely NEEDED shooting, they could bring Beal and Miller off the bench to try and catch fire.

Even though they don’t make 100% sense on paper, this is the team that nobody wants to play come March.

And that guy missed Bonner who is another big but give more outside shooting.

Here is the link to the rest of the article:

I'd put UCLA #1 Texas #2 and UF #3. Beal could handle bringing the ball up and no one would score on that team. That Kentucky team is just too young right now. These other 3 would obliterate them even with Rondo.

Stars matter, though, and UCLA has 2 of the top 10 players in the world in Love and Westbrook. Funny that they never won anything in the NCAA's with them. Durant of course is enough to put Texas at 2. He left off Wake, who would probably be one or two just because of Paul not to mention Duncan still chugging away.

That still wouldn't matter against the "high schoolers." Even if the college teams got their college's coaches and the high school guys coached themselves, they'd still murder them.

Billy's guys come ready to play and the NBA knows that. No douchebaggery to deal with.

I'd start Beal over Brewer.

we're big man U in the nba but seem to struggle to attact big men recruits to come to play...or at least you'd think now, BD would get the pick of the litter....

Just as a hypothetical, perhaps some of these big man recruits have people around them with "needs" that have to be met that Billy is not willing to meet.

so we need to 'sell' or market that "you" [mr big recruit] need to not fall into the trap of going for the instant gratification w/ some payola from college, and in the end, you'll be rewarded later w/ greater success in the nba...

You are assuming that recruits would be smart and look at nba success of coaches at their position. That is far from the case.

WERD...as a Spurs fan, I cannot believe they missed Red Rocket. He's one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA...that's pretty amazing for a big not named Dirk.

LOL....I can't help but think of South Park everytime I hear someone call Bonner "red rocket".

He has made the most of his physical ability of pretty much any player we've had. He can shoot lights out and plays smart. Always loved his game. Great Gator!

I actually thought Brewer would be the best out of that class. Boy was I wrong.

how is texas over florida?

look, I get Kevin Durant (the most natural scorer I have ever seen. the true HUE-mahn basketball player) and Tristan Thompson?????

but in the aggregate? c'mon, no way

Brewer has actually played really well this year. He's a solid 6th man on the Nuggets with a higher PER than Beal

But I would still start Beal...he's improving daily

LaMarcus Aldridge is one of the best power forwards in the league. After that, Star power is what matters most in the basketball. Also, Florida just doesn't have any guards.
